“Right,” I nodded. “Well, if you’re not interested, Seth and I’ll just head to brunch on our own. Won’t we?” I said, roping Seth in.

“Sorry, I’ll have to pass. I have a zoom meeting with the other team doctors. I'll catch up with you later.”

Spotting Stephanie with her friends, it looked like she was having the time of her life… and I desperately wanted to become a part of that life again. Looking over her shoulder, she pursed her lips together in a fucking grin.

Blushing when we made eye contact, her eyes locked on my lips as she smiled. Giving me goosebumps, Stephanie’s green irises sparkled but never deviated from my pinned stare.

After learning Stephanie might have feelings for me too, I observed the way her lips part just enough for me to notice and it takes everything in my power not to go over there and tell her how I feel.

How I’ve always felt.

Smirking as her eyes devour the sight of me, I don’t miss the way they trail across my body like she’s tracing each bump and curve of my muscles.

Damn.

Turning away quickly so I wouldn’t see the mischief in her eyes. I loved the way she was playing coy.

Distracting me from my thoughts, Bradly’s phone rang. “Let me catch up with you in a minute,” he said, excusing himself to take the call.
