“You want me, Sass?” Sliding my chest against hers, I rest on my forearms, holding the backs of her shoulders in my palms.

Her slim knees rise, positioning her entrance right at my tip. “Please,” she whispers, and I don’t make her ask twice.

With one swift thrust, I bury myself in her, balls deep. “Oh, god,” we groan together. My forehead drops to her shoulder, and I pause a moment, doing my best to get control, to make it last a little longer.

Kass lets out a whine and shifts her hips back and forth against me, pulling me with her clenching insides. My eyes squeeze shut, and I can’t hold back any longer. I grab her face and kiss her deeply, rocking my hips in a fast pace with my building orgasm.

“Oh, Kass,” I break away with a ragged groan as pleasure explodes through my pelvis. My body shudders, and I wrap my arms around her, holding her to me as the aftershocks tumble through my insides.

Her leg

s wrap around my waist, and with her arms around my neck, we’re as close as we could possibly be. I have her right where I want her—so close, so safe.

“Hmm,” she lets out a contented little sigh right at my ear. I can hear her smile, and warmth floods my veins. “The most precious thing in your life?”

I hold her and turn us to the side so she’s cradled in my arms. She moves forward to press her face against my jaw. “I’ve thought about you off and on, pretty much nonstop since you left. I thought I knew how it would be if I did see you again. I was wrong. It’s so much more.”

Her fingers trace the lines up and down my biceps as she listens. We’re quiet a moment when I’ve finished speaking, and I close my eyes as I hold her, listening to her breath, feeling her warmth against me. Her body vibrates, and I hear the faintest words drift by on a whisper. It almost sounds like I’m so sorry.

“What?” I frown, leaning back to catch her eyes.

That shadow is in them, that sadness is back. I’m confused, but she quickly changes, returning to light, teasing. “I wonder…” she smiles. “Do you still make the greatest coffee I’ve ever tasted?”

I prop my head on my hand and look down at her shimmering blue eyes, lifting a strand of silky blonde hair away from her face, wondering what could be left for her to hold back. I opt for patience and answer her question.

“Maybe. I don’t have the opportunity to do it as much anymore. And I don’t know whose coffee you’ve been tasting while we’ve been apart.”

Her lips curl in a bigger grin at the unexpected innuendo. “I’ve actually had very few coffees since we’ve been apart. They might as well have been tea compared to yours.”

Leaning down, I cover her mouth again in a slow, lingering kiss. When I pull up, I’m rewarded with another little contented sigh and a smile.

“Let me see what I’ve got,” I say, rolling to the side and climbing out of bed. I walk to the kitchen naked, and I’m opening and closing cabinets when I notice Kass slip out of the bed and gingerly make her way around my apartment.

She’s surprisingly accurate, considering her vision. She makes several cute little clicking sounds with her mouth and as a result, she manages to avoid the sofa, the lamp, and even my low coffee table. Without a word from me, she makes it to the bathroom and closes the door.

My eyebrows rise, and I shake my head as I start the Ninja. She’s amazing, and she’s right. She is not disabled. I still don’t know what to do with this, but I won’t make her feel weak or insult her ability.

It isn’t long before she’s back with me, cleaned up and wrapped in the thin robe I keep on the back of my bathroom door. It’s black with white pinstripes, and it’s enormous on her.

“Here.” I hand her a mug of coffee.

She scoots onto the stool at her hip, and I watch as she cups the mug in both hands, taking a slow sniff before sipping it… just like she always did. Lowering the cup, she smiles and lets out a satisfied noise.

“That is the best coffee I’ve ever had.”

I shake my head and take a sip from my own cup. It is pretty damn good, but I can’t take all the credit. “It’s the coffee maker. It’s one of those ‘perfect cup every time’ models.”

“No, it’s you.”

I reach out to cover her hand with mine. “So how do you do it?”

Her brows quirk. “Do what?”

“You made it all the way around my apartment like you grew up here. And what’s with the little clicks.”

“Mm,” she takes another sip of coffee. “It’s echolocation.”

For a moment, I only study her expression. She’s completely serious.
