When I see that asshole again, I’m demanding he take this power back.
I won’t be leaving my prison anytime soon, so I drift in and out of consciousness until sunset.
Then, I dream.
CHAPTER 12
“Open your mouth, little queen,” purrs a familiar voice with an accent that makes my toes curl into the velvet sheets.
Not furs.
My eyes flash open, and I’m no longer in the building housing the captives. I’m somewhere that has drifting shadows that glitter with blue lights. There aren’t any walls, just places where the bedroom I’m in seems to simply… end.
“I said your mouth, not your eyes,” Arwan chides as he nips my earlobe in punishment.
I suck in a breath at the sharp pinch, then his warm tongue soothes the hurt.
But my eyes remain open, and that’s when I spot two other males. They aren’t touching me like last time. They remain standing far away at the edges of the void.
Godric has his arms crossed, displaying his shifter tattoos, which aren’t black like I remember them. In this dream, they’re a bright white, as if alight with moonlight.
“She sees us,” Godric informs Arwan with a sly smile that warms my core.
The Outcast is here, too, and his brow furrows. But he doesn’t say anything. He watches me with his one good eye as if studying his prey. When he catches me staring, he winks at me.
My stomach flips.
“That’s why I wanted her eyes to remain closed,” Arwan growls into my ear. He curls his fingers under my shirt and lifts it enough to expose my belly button. Then he dips his fingers into it. “Are you frightened? These are just dreams, little queen. We’re here to help you choose one of us.”
“Choose?” I parrot back.
His fingers slide downward toward the throb between my legs.
He’s not going to…
My mouth parts as he slides his fingers under the fabric. He purrs again. “You’re so wet for me. Maybe I’m your favorite?” He twirls his touch just at my entrance. “Do you want this? I can stop.”
“I…” This is just a dream, right?
My gaze flashes to the Outcast again, who is still watching me, but this time he looks hungry.
He gives me a slight nod. I’m not sure what that means.
His voice was in my head the last time this happened. He said it was a side effect of the evaluation.
Maybe this is just in my head.
If that’s the case, then why not enjoy it?
“I want this,” I inform Arwan, who has remained still, waiting for my answer. He makes a sound of approval before he moves again.
My eyes roll into the back of my head as he slides one finger inside.
I squeeze my legs together and—
“Liliana,” a hurried whisper jolts me awake.
“Fuck,” I curse aloud, and I’m not sure if it’s because I’m glad that someone woke me up, or pissed off.
