“I mean, why haven’t you fucked me yet? Why am I not bent over this table panting your name? I mean, what the hell is going on with you?”
“Jesus, Fee.” Color swept up Theo’s cheeks.
“Well … you’re really making a girl insecure over here.”
He grabbed her hand across the table. “Trust me, Fee, there’s nothing I want more than you bent over this table, but…”
“But what? You’re afraid of hurting me? You won’t break me, Theo. I’m fine. I’m stronger with you.”
He smiled at that, his green eyes flashing. “Me, too.”
“Great, then let’s get to it.”
“Wait.” He still held on tight to her hand, making no move to get up. “I just… It’s just that…”
Fee waited for him to gather his thoughts.
“The last time we did this, it didn’t work.” He blurted out the words in a rush, a crease of worry forming between his brows.
“It worked pretty damn well for me.” Fee smiled, remembering the frenzy of their last encounter and the insane amount of times she’d come. Her cheeks heated and a heavy ache spread through her.
Theo flashed her a grin. “Me, too,” he growled but then turned somber again. “But this whole Mate thing…”
“Theo.”
“Yeah?”
“This is only like my third day as a werewolf…”
He huffed a laugh.
“And I can’t pretend to understand it all, but we’re connected. It’s you and me from here on out. No matter what.”
He nodded, relief slowly relaxing his posture.
“The sex is just the icing on the cake,” she added with a grin.
“Hmm … icing… That’s definitely something I could get on board with.”
Fee laughed, giving his hand a squeeze. “And besides, last time we still had too much bullshit between us. Too many … lies.”
“Right. And this time…”
“It’s all out in the open,” she said.
“Fee?”
“Yeah?”
“I hate your bedside lamps.”
“What?”
“And your bathroom is definitely too pink.”
“Theo…”
“And your mother drives me crazy.”
