White light pours from Selena and the baby straight into my body. Sapphire blue light erupts from the casket.

My wolf jerks in my arms.

"I've got you."

The light grabs us.

“Hold on!”

I won't let go.

We plunge toward the casket.

Heat sears the back of my neck. A glowing moon flashes across my skin, a Roman numeral burning at its center as a sapphire blue gem ignites.

“What is that?”

No time.

The pull becomes violent. I clutch my wolf tighter as we hurtle toward my motionless body.

White and sapphire blue light explode around us.

We slam into my body together.

My heart slams once. Again. My fingers twitch.

My eyes fly open. Silver white light floods my vision.

I gasp.

The mate bond slams into me.

I jerk awake with a gasp, my body shooting upright before my mind catches up. My heart pounds against my ribs as warmth pulses through the hollow place inside my chest. My wolf surges forward. Another pulse moves through the bond.

Feels like our mate bond.

"No. Our mate is dead. And I don't remember meeting a second chance mate."

My wolf goes still. Then what can it be?

"Dark magic."
