“What did she say?”
“Nothing.”
“Is it Ravenna?”
He didn’t answer.
“Caleb.”
He shoved the phone into his pocket. “I have to go.”
I genuinely thought I’d misheard him. “What?”
“I need you to stay here.”
I stared. “Excuse me?”
“Don’t leave.”
He grabbed his keys. “I’ll be right back.”
I laughed. “You’ve lost your fucking mind.”
“Blair, please.”
“What happened?”
“She—”
He stopped.
“What?”
“Nothing.”
“Then why do you look like you’re about to throw up?”
He headed toward the door and I followed. “Caleb!”
He turned. “Please. Just stay here. Don’t go anywhere.”
“Does she finally know?”
His face told me before his mouth could.
My stomach dropped. “Caleb.”
“I’ll explain when I get back.”
“Does she know about me?”
He opened the door. “Stay here.” Then left.
I stood there, stunned. “Un-fucking-believable.”
