“Why?”
Nesha walked past us with her purse. “Well, this has been fun.”
“Bye, Nesha,” Nash said.
“Bye, Blair.”
“Bye. It was nice to meet you.”
She smiled at her brother. “I expect details.”
“You won’t get any.”
“We’ll see.”
The door closed and he caught my wrist gently and turned me around. I tried to keep my face straight, but failed.
A smile slipped out. “Shut up.”
“I haven’t said anything.”
He pulled me closer and my arms went around his neck automatically. “You thought Nesha was my woman.”
“No”
“You were ready to fight.”
“I don’t fight over men.”
“Mhm.”
“I would’ve simply gathered my belongings.”
He kissed me and I smiled against his mouth.
He pulled back. “For future reference, there isn’t a woman. If there ever is,” he continued, “you’ll know about her.”
I nodded. “Okay.”
He kissed my forehead. “Now go home and hydrate.”
“Don’t tell me what to do.”
I opened the door.
“Blair.”
I turned and he leaned against the wall. “I had fun last night.”
“Me too.”
I walked outside, got into my car, and sat there for a second. I was hungover and smiling like a fucking idiot. I’d fallen asleep in Nash’s house, woken up in his bed, and met his sister after nearly accusing him of harboring a secret woman.
After all that, I wanted to simply redo the whole night again adding a little more spice.
