Oak flattened his lips, gave a curt nod, and the room fell into silence. There were secrets among the club. There were things they never talked about. Killcreek had never had a reason to deal with Ghosttown. This was no different.
“We’ll take it to Inez. See how she wants to handle it. In house or with Oz,” Ace said and scanned the brothers. “We got anything else?”
God, I fucking hope not.
Jekyll was prepared to stand when Cypher stepped forward, staring directly at him. “It’s a problem.”
Jekyll stiffened, keeping his eyes locked on Cypher. He’d been warned.
“What’s the problem?” Cross asked, shifting his gaze between him and Cypher.
Cypher didn’t answer. He was waiting on Jekyll. There was no way of getting out of this. He nodded and settled into his chair, watching Cypher move closer to the table.
“I got some information. Don’t know if it’s something we should be worried about but figured I’d mention it.” He looked over at Jekyll. “Got a little more on Imogene.”
“The prison librarian?” Ace asked.
Cypher nodded. “Looked into her again when Jekyll ran into her and she mentioned moving to Lawry. At the time, she didn’t have a new address on file. Since then, it’s been updated.”
“Wait” —Hyde shifted in his seat— “You saw her? In Lawry?”
“Yeah.” He gave his back to his cousin and lifted his chin toward Cypher. “Where is she at?”
“5276 Bloomfield Court.”
He wasn’t familiar with the residential sections of the city.
“Alright. So?”
Cypher hiked his brows. “It doesn’t exist.”
What?
“It’s a dummy address.”
While it was strange, it wasn’t necessarily an issue for the club. It could’ve been something as simple as a street name mistake.
“That’s the problem?” Jekyll arched his brow.
Cypher sighed. “There’s more. She’s got one relative who lives in Lawry.”
“You said she didn’t,” Jekyll snapped.
“When I initially checked, there wasn’t any information. But it isn’t exactly like I did her family tree, Jek. All her social media was deleted years ago. Kind of hard to trace her moves without it these days.”
Ace lifted his hand, gaining their attention. “I’m failing to see what the fucking problem is. She’s got family in Lawry. So what?”
“Her cousin is Detective Erik Murdoch who works for the Lawry PD and has a connection to Ghosttown East.” Cypher drew in a breath. “And the Underground.”
Oh shit!
Hyde jerked his head, staring at Jekyll, but he refused to look at him.
“Why do I know that name?” Hyde snapped.
Ace dragged his hand down his face, cupping his jaw. “We don’t need this complication, Jek.”
It was official. Imogene is a big fucking problem.
