“How do you two know each other?” Cue asked.

Imogene smiled. “Oh, Eden works at the shelter where I got my cat.”

Jekyll squared his jaw, eyeing the other redhead. “She’s responsible for the angry asshole?”

Imogene furrowed her brows. “I picked Hank.”

“How’s that going?” Eden asked keeping her eyes locked on Imogene.

“I think we’re making progress.”

When Jekyll snorted, she shot him a glare. “It takes time.”

Imogene turned back to Eden, smiling. “It’s so nice seeing you again.”

His woman was oblivious to the tension in the yard. But Eden wasn’t.

“It’s nice seeing you too,” she cleared her throat. “Well, I have to go,” Eden said, avoiding eye contact with everyone but Imogene. “Tell Hank I said hi.”

Imogene chuckled and waved, watching Eden until she disappeared around the building. Jekyll turned to the brothers when he noticed Griggs and Spinner watching them from the back door.

“You boys staying for the party?” Griggs asked, then looked over at Imogene. There was a gleam in his eye that had Jekyll’s blood racing through his veins. “All are welcome. That includes you, sweetheart.”

Motherfucker!

Jekyll grabbed her hand, and walked down the driveway without a word. They hadn’t gotten a long look at his woman, but they’d seen her. And with her knowing Eden, they could press the club whore for more information on Imogene. That didn’t sit well with him. He wasn’t the only one.

Cross, Wraith, Cue, and Hyde stopped at the end of the driveway on their bikes. They’d wait until he and Imogene took off before leaving. He looked over at Hyde, who pointed to the clubhouse and mouthed, “I didn’t like that.”

Jekyll wasn’t the only man watching over his woman. It may have seemed extreme but he needed her safe and there was only one way he could guarantee that.

He handed her the helmet. “Gonna take you back to your place. You pack up, you’re gonna stay with me in Killcreek.”

“Really?” Her voice spiked.

He nodded.

“For how long?”

Jekyll wasn’t sure.

“A while.”

Her smile faltered, and she bowed her head, mumbling, “I can’t.”

“Yeah, you can.”

“No, I really can’t.”

“Imogene.” He growled.

This was non-negotiable.

“No, I mean, I want to, but I can’t.” She sighed. “Hank.”

Fuck me.

“Bring him.”
