Sevyn Days of Christmas

“Look, this is your last stop of the day. With me, at least. The sooner you let me do what I have to do, the quicker you can get rid of me.”

“Leading with that would have been the best way to start,” she joked, nervously chewing on her lip. “But still.”

“Is the big bad boxer afraid?” Dallas teased, knowing exactly how to push her buttons.

“I’m not afraid of anything. You know that.”

“Then what are you waiting on, ma’am? Get out of the car.”

Dallas fought the urge to laugh as she stubbornly sat for at least two more minutes before grabbing the door handle. “Fine. But if I trip or you push me into some snow, I’m going to kick your ass.”

“I’d expect nothing less from you.”

They exited the car, and Dallas made his way around to her side, blindfold clutched tightly in his hands. Sevyn shot him a look of disapproval, reluctantly turning around so he could place it over her eyes.

Dallas made quick work of it, loosely tying the knot with slightly shaking hands. The faint smell of Sevyn’s perfume wafted to his nose, threatening to take control of his senses.

Lightly brushing his fingertips against the back of her neck, he fought the urge to replace his fingers with his lips. Clearing his throat, Dallas dropped his hands down to her waist, urging her forward.

“Dal, wait,” Sevyn said, shuffling along. “You’re walking too fast.”

“Get over it crybaby, you’re almost there.”

“You just remember what I said. One false move and—”

“Yada, yada, yada,” he interrupted, urging her forward. “Just keep going.”

They walked a little longer than necessary, mostly as payback for her getting on his nerves until finally, they came to a stop. A swift wind kicked up, whipping around them sharply. Be it instinctual or just reactive, Sevyn backed into him, gently burrowing herself into his body.

With a soft smile, Dallas circled his arms around her waist, bending so that his lips were hovering just above her ear. “Ready?”

“As I’ll ever be.”

With one hand, he removed the blindfold, revealing that they were at the local ice skating rink.

Sevyn’s eyebrows knitted together as she tilted her head back to look up at him. “When did you become coordinated enough to skate?”

“Never,” he snorted. “But I know somebody that is.”

Dallas knew the second Sevyn spotted her surprise. The excitement coursing through her was so intense that he could nearly feel it.

“Oh my GOD!!” she screeched, worming her way out of his arms. “Kohl!?”

Because he was down for helping Dallas with his plan to help Sevyn come around to the feelings she had for him, Kohl had agreed to keep his arrival under wraps for another day, long enough to allow Dallas to surprise Sevyn with Kohl’s presence.

“What’s up, big sister?” Kohl grinned, lifting Sevyn from her feet and spinning her around.

“I can’t believe it! What are you doing here?”

“Before y’all get too deep into this reunion, this is my exit,” Dallas interrupted. “Have fun and I’ll see you tomorrow for day two.”

With her cheeks red from the frosty weather, Sevyn beamed at him. “Thank you, Dal.”

“You’re welcome, Sev. I’ll see y’all later.”

“Aight, bro,” Kohl nodded.

Satisfied with the idea that he and Sevyn had at least broken the ice for the week, Dallas took off, leaving her with Kohl. There was so much more that he had planned, and unbeknownst to Sevyn, they were starting all over again the next day just as early as they had on this one.
