All I had was me, myself, and I. That’s what I kept telling myself for the rest of the night as Vayn, me, and his shadows discussed my new ability. Vayn sat on the edge of his bed the entire time while I lounged in the chair I’d caught him jacking off in. Vayn began explaining to me the dangers of dream traveling.

Even though what he was saying was interesting and important, I couldn’t stop my mind from drifting back to last night. Had he really been moaning my name as he pleasured himself? Had he been imagining me on my knees in front of him, licking his cock as he pulled my hair?

Or had he been imagining me bent over the chair as he hit it from the back, smacking my ass as he pounded me? I tensed when Vayn’s shadows, who were standing around my chair, watching me, started to growl. Oh, right! They could smell my arousal. Shit.

“Damn it, Destiny. Focus!” Vayn muttered as he ran his hand through his hair, unable to meet my gaze.

Busted. “Yes, sir,” I whispered.

His gaze jerked to mine and remained there. Damn it. What had I done now? He inhaled deeply, released the breath slowly, then looked away from me and continued lecturing me about my ability. Seriously, I was trying to keep my mind out of the gutter and focus on the conversation. But being alone with them and their scents was making that hard to do.

Charm leaned down and whispered in my ear, “What were you just thinking about?”

“Nothing,” I whispered back.

“Come on. You can tell me. It’ll be our little secret.”

“Shush before Vayn catches us.”

“I can close the connection and talk to you telepathically.”

“By the way, how are you able to do that? You guys are the only shadows I can do that with.”

“Maybe it’s one of your abilities. But, I like to think it means we’re special to you,” Charm said, smiling.

“Charm!” Vayn yelled.

“Sorry, captain.” Charm saluted Vayn before standing up straight again.

I couldn’t stop laughter from escaping me, and that earned me another glare from Vayn. Ugh. He was worse than my real professors. I tried to think about anything other than nasty stuff as Vayn continued talking.

But that led to me not paying attention to what Vayn was saying. As time ticked by, I started to get bored and dozed off. My head lolled to the side. I woke up when I felt a hand against my face, propping my head up. I stared up to see Bliss looking down at me. I’d been sleeping on his hand.

“Sorry,” I whispered.

“You can sleep on me anytime you want,” Bliss murmured.

“Bliss!” Vayn yelled.

I snapped to attention and faced Vayn. Behind me, Bliss chuckled, not at all bothered by Vayn’s attitude. Vayn continued talking about dream walking. I was too tired to focus. I rested my head against the back of the chair and tried to keep my eyes open. I was off in Lala land when Vayn woke me up and told me we’d continue the conversation another day.

“Why?” I asked, wiping my mouth to make sure I hadn’t slobbered in my sleep. “I’m awake,” I lied.

He chuckled. “Get up, little liar. Let’s go. You need some rest.”

I sighed. It was time to go back to my dorm apartment, where I’d be alone again. Always alone. Nothing new there. Like a gentleman, Vayn teleported me back to my apartment. Before leaving, each of the shadows kissed the back of my hand before telling me good night.

“If you get bored,” Charm whispered after kissing my hand. “Just dream of us.”

I laughed. Even if I didn’t want to dream of them, I probably would.

“I’ll keep that in mind,” I told Charm. He winked at me. I winked back. He was so damn adorable.

“We’ll be here in the morning to walk you to class,” Bliss told me after kissing my hand.

“Thank you, Bliss,” I muttered, enchanted by the smile on his handsome face.

“Tomorrow, I’ll give you pointers when you’re in PC class,” Rage told me. “With me by your side, you’ll definitely win tomorrow's match.”
