What do we want?

Orgasms.

When do we want them?

Now!

I’d survived for years without them so I shouldn’t be so horny.

I needed to get over this ridiculous addiction.

My office line rang. Dana must be ready to meet.

‘Hi!’ I said cheerily. ‘I mean, good evening, Sated Press Office, this is Eleanor speaking, how may I help you?’

‘Good evening, Eleanor. Valerie here. Mr Devlin has asked to see you in his office immediately, please.’

‘Okay,’ I said, wondering how he knew I was still here. ‘I’ll be right there.’

After quickly checking that I looked presentable, I grabbed my notepad and headed to the top floor.

My heart thudded. Although I was relieved to have heard from him, I’d hoped that he’d give me feedback via email instead of meeting face to face.

When I reached the top floor, Valerie ushered me straight in.

‘Oh my God,’ I said when I caught sight of Mr Devlin’s wrist brace. ‘Is it broken? Are you okay?’ I rushed over.

‘It’s just a sprain. Thanks for your concern.’ He nodded in acknowledgement.

‘Of course. I wish I could’ve done something to help. I felt so bad letting you just leave like that. Does it hurt? Are you taking painkillers?’

Jeez. I needed to tone it down. I was fussing like I was his mother, but I felt guilty. It was all my fault. I shouldn’t have spoken to him whilst he was running.

Then again, he was on the treadmill when I first arrived at the gym and when I spoke to him then, he was fine. I didn’t understand why when I came back he got so distracted.

Strange.

‘Yes,’ he said curtly. ‘I saw your email. I liked the other in-store events suggestions and the list of lingerie brands Sated could potentially partner with. Most of them are already on our radar. Especially Maison Amourielle. Thankfully, the matter I mentioned yesterday is no longer an issue. The rumours were unfounded, but these are still options we could consider in the future, hence why I called you here.’

‘Great! Thanks!’ Pride bloomed in my chest.

‘Hosting couples counselling sessions in our stores might be slightly off brand, but sex therapy sessions or workshops could be worth exploring,’ Mr Devlin said.

‘Yes!’ I replied. ‘Then the therapist could recommend the Sated books and toys they need to—’

Before I finished my sentence there was a knock at the door.

‘Enter,’ Mr Devlin called out.

‘Sorry to interrupt,’ Valerie’s head appeared around the door, ‘but the plumber just messaged. He’s on his way to fix my boiler so—’

‘Fine. See you tomorrow,’ Mr Devlin jumped in.

‘Thank you.’ Valerie smiled. ‘Bye, Eleanor.’

‘Bye,’ I replied as my stomach tensed.

Shit. I didn’t know we’d be left alone. Valerie was supposed to be the security blanket I needed to stop me from doing something stupid.
