‘Some notice would’ve been good.’
‘I’ve had a stressful week and I need to relax. If you’d prefer that I drop you back to the office so you can see your friends, I can—’
‘It’s fine. This time,’ I said, doing my best to set some boundaries. I knew I was lucky to be here, but I still had to make it clear that he couldn’t just click his fingers and expect me to drop everything at a moment’s notice.
‘Understood. I should’ve contacted you earlier,’ he acknowledged. ‘But I wanted to see you.’
‘Yes, you already said. I get it, you’re horny.’
‘I am. But it wasn’t just because I wanted… Never mind.’
‘Awww, did you miss me?’ I joked.
‘Possibly.’ His lips twitched and satisfaction flooded my stomach.
Blake actually missed me. I wasn’t expecting that.
‘All I’m hearing is that you couldn’t stop thinking about me.’ I chuckled.
‘Have you eaten?’ He deliberately avoided answering my question.
‘No.’
‘Good. I’m taking you to one of my favourite restaurants. For Thai food.’ He flashed a knowing smile.
My heart fluttered.
He’d remembered that I wanted to try Thai.
And when I’d joked that he couldn’t stop thinking about me, he didn’t deny it.
I was pretty sure that a fuckbuddy didn’t take you to their favourite restaurant though, right?
That was date behaviour.
Blake had made it clear from the start that this was just sex.
But now, as crazy as it sounded, I wondered if this was starting to develop into something more…

‘You were right,’ I said as I slid the last forkful of Pad Thai into my mouth. ‘This place is amazing. Thank you for bringing me here.’
As much as I loved the sex, I appreciated that he’d taken me out before we went back to his place.
This was the fanciest restaurant I’d ever visited.
As well as the elegant dining table with crisp white linen, gold crockery and cutlery, there was a calming indoor waterfall and a stunning illuminated gold Buddha statue.
‘You’re welcome,’ Blake replied, brushing a loose curl off my cheek with his thumb before peppering soft kisses along my neck.
I moaned with pleasure, loving how affectionate he was being.
When we’d arrived at the restaurant’s back entrance, we were whisked away to a private room where we had our own dedicated team of waiters.
The conversation had flowed easily. I thought we’d talk mainly about the app, but we barely spoke about work for more than a few minutes.
