The same thing happened when she laughed at a funny scene.
And when she laid her head on my shoulder… Damn.
The fact that she’d opened up to me also meant a lot. It made me feel special. Like she trusted me.
That was why when she offered to suck me off when we got back from the museum, there was no way I could accept. Only a selfish cunt would do that.
When I woke up after 7 a.m. yesterday, Ellie had her arms wrapped around me and…
Well, I didn’t hate it.
I’d stayed in bed much longer than I would normally on a Sunday. And instead of going straight to my office, I went to buy fruit, pastries and other things I thought Ellie would like, then prepared brunch for her before starting work.
I’d checked on Ellie a few times, but clearly she was exhausted, so I let her sleep.
Normally after I’d spent more than a few hours with a woman, I got restless and wanted to leave. But with Ellie, it was different somehow.
Instead of wanting distance, I craved her. And wanted more.
Which was a problem.
Organising the museum visit was one thing, but perhaps in hindsight the whole brunch in bed and movie marathon was a step too far.
I didn’t want to lead her on or make her think that this was going to become a relationship.
Because it wasn’t.
Even if some small, disobedient part of me wanted it to.
‘Who is she?’ Heath asked.
‘None of your business,’ I snapped.
‘Oooh, touchy!’ Oscar grinned.
‘I’ve answered enough of your questions. Now can you all shut the fuck up and focus,’ I said firmly.
I knew the more I talked about it, the more they’d want to know and the more risk there was of them pushing me to reveal her identity.
They could never know that I was fucking Ellie.
The fallout would be catastrophic.
That was why I needed to shut this shit down before I started to catch feelings, which to my horror, was starting to feel like a real possibility.
Yes, my weekend with Ellie was incredible.
But we absolutely couldn’t screw again.
And this time, I really meant it.

ELLIE
‘Thanks, lovely,’ Dana said as I placed the cocktails on the table.
‘Cheers, sweetie,’ Joe added.
