“Enjoy your dinner, Cameron. Nice to have met you, Angela.”
Jared gently pulls me into his chest, and his lips meet my forehead. “You wanna get out of here?”
“No. We’re going to have our dinner, then go home and have the best sex of our lives.”
Jared chuckles, wrapping his arm around my waist. His laugh was real, but he’s pretending that what Cam is doing isn’t crushing him too.
I watched them. I watched as Cam’s curiosity turned to something more. I saw the looks they shot each other when they didn’t think the other was watching. I saw the way Cam would light up when Jay was around. I watched as this changed from two relationships into one. I fucking saw it. Then, earlier happened. I thought Cam was falling for…he played me so hard.
“Yes, ma’am.”
Cam growls, but we don’t look back at him. We don’t look back at all. He doesn’t deserve it.
CHAPTER 13
CAM
As if this night couldn’t get any worse, I got caught on a date that isn’t a fucking date. In true form, my parents set me up with Angela. Before I could understand what was happening, Indy saw us. They said they would be here; my own parents stood me up.
It would figure that the one place I would never expect to see Indy, Jared would bring her. Fuck, she looked beautiful though. She never dresses up like that, and the fire in her eyes…she was holding back. She wanted to unleash on me in here, and how can I fucking blame her? This looks incriminating.
I plan to stay at this god-forsaken dinner. Hopefully, I’ll get it through to Angela that this will never happen. This little stunt may cost me Indy, and I’ll never get over it if it does. But I won’t let it cost me my freedom. I should have left when I saw Angela standing inside the door. I should have walked out and gone home to them. I wanted to believe my parents would do the right thing. Why would I though? This is all they’ve ever done for me. Always a let-down. Always a disappointment.
“Angela, you need to move on. I don’t want to be with you.” I try to reason with her, but she never fucking listens.
“Come on, Cam. We’re perfect for each other, and you can keep your side bitch if you want. Though I can’t imagine why you’d want someone like that. She’s disgusting.”
Slamming my fist on the table, I rattle everything on top, making her jump. “You have no idea what you are talking about. She’s the best person I’ve ever met.” My voice is much calmer than I feel, but keeping control of your voice is the first step to keeping control of yourself.
Who the fuck does she think she is?
“Why was she here with another man, then?”
“She’s allowed to be with him. He is her boyfriend.”
Angela’s face falls, trying to understand what I mean. “But—”
I cut her off; fuck it, it’s too late to turn back now. “I’m also her boyfriend, if that clarifies it for you.”
She shakes her head, staring at the table. “And you and him?”
“Are her boyfriends. We fuck with her, not each other.”
“Then you’re allowed a girlfriend,” she says, grabbing at my hand, like she makes the rules.
I jerk away from her insistent touching. “If I wanted one, we would talk about it. I don’t want one.”
I don’t. I don’t want anyone but them, and this right here may have fucked me. My eyes widen, and my stomach clenches at that realization. I want them both? I want them both. It’s not only about Indy anymore.
I jerk from my chair, leaving a wide-mouthed Angela sitting at the table; I’m unable to take any more of this. Of her. I need to get to them. I need to fix this.
I look around the restaurant for them, but they’re gone.
Indy’s apartment is closer, so that’s where I go. I knock on her door, and at first, I think I’m going to be ignored, but Micky opens up. His hair is disheveled, and he’s half-naked.
“Mik, come back, baby.” A lusty whine comes from behind the door. I cock my brow, and he smirks.
“They aren’t here, man,” he says, running his fingers through his hair. “Try Jared’s,” he yells at me, already halfway down the stairs.
