I forced a laugh as he chuckled. Instead of hugging me or leaning down to kiss me, he just rubbed my shoulder. I fought against the tears building up. As always, I want a mothafucka to show and tell me how they really feel. That crying shit does nothing but buy sympathy.

He bit into the food as I cleared my throat, “There’s really so much I want to say and the first is—”

“I don’t want to talk about that tonight.”

“It’s sort of awkward between us, Kenzo. This isn’t how I imagined spending my time with you when you came home.”

“Trust me, shorty. It’s not how I imagined spending my time either.”

“At least let m—”

“Cassandra. Not tonight.”

For the longest, I just stood there with my feelings hurt. I was stuck between a place of arguing or defending myself. Yelling or crying. Silence or begging. Once I realized we went just about his entire meal without speaking again, I slowly walked away to my room. Glancing back at him at the doorframe, his eyes were already traveling down my body.

Giving up on tonight, I went into the bathroom and got him a new toothbrush out. I walked to the furthest side of the bed, knowing he lays by the door. My body called out, praising the softness and comfort of my bed after hours of being tense. I laid there with a clear head. Avoiding any and all thoughts.

The place was silent besides the occasional deep inhale from Kenzo on his blunt. I chewed my lip thinking about exactly what was running through his mind. If he was thinking about the men that sat in that section, staring at my body. If he believed the lie about the car.

“Go lay yo ass down, Dora.”

“It’s DEVYN!”

SLAM!

I chuckled under my breath as he walked past me and into the bathroom. Butterflies roamed in my belly once the water turned off. His heavy footsteps came to bed and stopped. A bed that he has never laid in. A bed he has watched me please myself in over and over again, wishing he was here with me.

Finally, the blankets ruffled as he pulled them back. He pulled them back a little too much, exposing the back of my body to him. Desire caressed the room as his eyes rested on me. I heard his t-shirt hit the floor and then his beater. Lastly, his shorts.

Kenzo got into the bed, groaning out at how soft it was. His big hand stretched across the space between us, yanking me towards him and to his chest. The first thing a hoe did was back my ass up into his dick. And it was hard.

He chuckled low in my ear, “You didn’t get enough?”

“Did you?”

“Good night, baby.”

“Kenzo...just don’t leave when I go to sleep. Please.”

He didn’t respond. Warm liquid slid down my cheeks as I allowed myself to doze off.

Chapter 27: Professions

Cassie’s POV

The sun coming through my automatic curtains let me know just how late in the morning it was. It’s actually been causing me to stir for a lil minute, so I know it’s late. I haven’t slept in like this in forever. I nestled my face into the sheets, hiding from my wake-up call.

His smell was in every fiber. Briefly, I felt the sadness and yearning I did when he was locked up. But then the crazy night came rushing back to me. At the same time, my foot and hand stretched across the soft sheets, feeling for him. When I came up empty, my eyes shot open.

I sat up quickly. The bed was empty. My heart was racing as I listened for any sign of life. The silence was deafening.

Panicking, I quickly crawled across the bed, hopping out. My foot was caught in the sheet which cause me to fall to the floor. Instead of hopping up, I just laid there, crying.

“Kenzo...” I whispered through the sob.

I heard the little clinks of K4’s collar as he walked to me. He provided little comfort while snuggling beneath my body.

A mistake and getting caught up was one thing. But to constantly do something you know is wrong was another. I couldn’t pass off blame. Losing the love of my life for being a liar was my own fault.
