“You never visit anymore,” Trēs pouted as she pulled him to his feet.

Duo groaned like death was knocking at her door. “It’s been forever.”

“It’s been two weeks,” Jack dryly replied.

“How many Earth days is that again?” Trēs inquired, turning to her sisters.

I raked my fingers through my hair. “Fourteen. Not that many.”

“Then you should have visited us…” Duo paused, holding her hands out. “Twelve days ago.”

“Why?” Jack asked before squinting at them. “What are you doing?”

“Trying to figure out where we went wrong,” Trēs repeated.

The hellsteed leaned over to examine the erect horse. “What’s wrong with it?”

“Don’t,” Stone cut in, but he was too late.

“Humans fuck them,” Duo answered with too much fake horror in her tone.

Jack snorted, and I pulled my hoodie over my face to hide my laughter.

Trēs nodded. “We still don’t know why.”

Ūnus morphed once more to voice her agreement. “It’s really rather strange, don’t you think?”

“That doesn’t happen much anymore,” Jack tried to explain.

“What do you do with yours?” Duo asked, tipping her head toward his groin.

“He makes silicone molds with it.” I confessed, then cackled.

Jack glared at me. “Did you drag me out of bed for this?”

“I didn’t do anything,” I defended. “Blame the Fates. They’re behind—”

“No, we’re not,” Trēs argued. “It was all Sloane’s idea.”

“Are you kidding me?” I snapped. “I didn’t do it. I can’t magick him into your brimstone castle in the core of the Earth. You’ve got it warded from everything. We came in through the broom closet.”

The hellsteed groaned. “Bitch. I had a horny vamp—”

“Do not finish that sentence,” Novak warned. “They have scarred me enough for one night. Thanks.”

“Send me back,” Jack demanded.

“I didn’t bring you here,” I retorted, pointing at the Fates. “They did.”

“I love it when they bicker like siblings,” Ūnus whispered.

Duo rolled her bright aqua eyes. “I told you they should have been siblings.”

“No. I said that,” Trēs declared. “You wanted to make them mates.”

Jack and I stared at each other, and I watched as the color drained from his face. I could feel my skin turning green.

“I think I’m going to be sick,” I mumbled.
