“No. You’re a demon,” Novak stated. “And I’ve seen you eat a corn dog. Those are dogs on a stick—”

“I don’t eat corn dogs,” Stone argued, though he was now slightly confused. “Briggs is the only one of us I’ve ever seen eat a fucking corn dog.”

“That’s not the same thing as dog meat,” Briggs informed my vampire. “You’re not this stupid. What are you playing at?”

Novak tipped his head in agreement. “It’s a dog on a stick.”

“You’re a dick,” Stone murmured.

“Briggs’ dick is like a giant corn dog,” my vampire cut in, pulling his hands apart to show size.

I picked at the berries on my plate as I watched the scene unfold. None of us knew what Novak was up to, but he and Stone had been arguing for days now.

Mostly, it was my vampire staring shit.

I was too curious about his end game to jump into the conversation.

“Yeah, I’m out.” Briggs threw his napkin on the table and wandered into the kitchen with York.

Stone dropped his hands, glaring at Novak. “I’m not comparing dick sizes—”

“Oh, you don’t want to claim Asian anymore?” my vampire countered.

I popped a few blueberries into my mouth as I waited for Stone to launch across the table.

“That’s so fucking offensive…” my demon grumbled.

“I know,” Novak acknowledged. “You don’t get to just claim the parts you like. What you said is offensive, not what I said.”

Vaughn sighed. “You can’t compare demon dicks to humans’.”

It took every bit of my self-control not to snort at that comment.

“That’s my point,” Novak declared, swinging his arm toward my fae. “It’s apples and bananas.”

“Who dropped you?” Stone whispered, leaning across the table. “And how did we get here?”

My vampire grinned. This was what he’d been after throughout the entire conversation.

“Oh, because—”

“No,” my demon snapped. “Palmer, mute him!”

My mage stretched his arms over the backs of the chairs, though he was careful not to touch me. We’d had our own round of arguments lately, but we thrived on challenging each other.

Plus, the makeup sex was out of this world.

“You can’t just spout off shit like that,” Palmer explained. “People are going to misunderstand what you’re trying to say.”

“That’s like telling Trouble she can’t kill people,” my vampire pointed out. “I can do it. As you guys so frequently tell me, I don’t have a filter between my mouth and my brain.”

Stone rolled his lapis eyes, the blue starbursts bright in his frustrated state. “Your mouth—”

“The Devil likes my mouth,” Novak interrupted, daring my demon to refute his comment.

I shrugged, brushing my shoulder against Palmer’s arm. “Neither of us can disagree with that…”

“That’s all you have to say about this?” Stone asked me.
