“I only wish I’d have been awake to see it all,” Jack murmured to my fae.

Blaire hugged me from behind, stumbling a little as she squeezed the life out of me. When I turned, she waved as she stepped into Baylor’s arms and pushed into the void. Grim kissed my cheek as he followed them. And Jack leaned against me, right arm over my shoulder as he cradled his bottles in the left.

“I’m going to get Bay fucked up,” he divulged.

“That’s not a good idea.”

“I know.”

“Then why—”

He winked at me and disappeared without letting me finish my question. It wasn’t like I wanted him to answer, anyway. What they did was what they did… And I didn’t want to know.

“Right,” I drawled to myself before glancing at York and Stone. “Can you get Briggs and Vaughn home?”

“We got them,” Stone said with a sigh, pulling my wolf back before he could wander away.

“I’ll go find Palmer and grab Novak,” I began. “Then I want a hot shower and—”

“Sex?” Briggs guessed, sounding super confident.

I grinned at him. “I was thinking of a movie, Wolf. Maybe some candy… Or bread. You and the fae need to sober up.”

“Boo,” he sang, rocking into Vaughn. “She’s no fun.”

“Novak calls her a spoil-sport,” my fae muttered as they assessed me. “We should keep drinking, though.”

“At home,” Stone suggested. “Where we don’t have to keep a leash on you.”

Briggs spun in a circle, trying to look at his back. “Is that a dog joke? Did you put a leash on me?”

“Did you find your tail?” Palmer asked my wolf, walking up with Novak. “Or do ya have an itch you can’t scratch?”

My vampire chuckled. “He’s probably trying to sniff his—”

“Starfish,” York shouted in the same way one would call dibs.

His hand landed on my shoulder before I could reply or say bye to our friends. And then we were embraced by the void’s frigid winds as he rushed us home.

There are some things

you just don’t say

I popped the tab on my can of soda as I settled into my chair. The debate happening in the dining room was… Interesting. I chose to stay out of it, opting to silently observe as my guys squabbled.

“The Spanish Inquisition vastly influenced Filipino culture for more than three centuries.” Palmer was passionate about this topic. “But they are not called Spanish Asians.”

Novak shrugged. “So we’ll tango in a frilly red dress while we eat dog on a stick.”

“What the fuck?” Briggs mumbled, rubbing his forehead with his middle finger.

“We are not taking him on this trip with us,” York stated in outrage, standing by the table with his empty plate in his hand.

“Just walk away,” Stone advised my druid. “Otherwise, he’s going to keep up his bullshit.”

“Why are you offended?” my vampire inquired. “You’re not even close to being Filipino.”

My demon laced his fingers together, leaning his forehead against them. “I’m Asian.”
