I step inside, closing and locking the door behind me as I pull my phone from my pocket. I’m agitated with Drew for telling her everything, but I’m also relieved.

Why did I think she would fuck someone else to get back at me?

That was stupid.

Kody wouldn’t do that…

She just leaves dead guys in my place of business.

What’s next? My front fucking door?

“Drew,” I growl the moment he answers.

“Walker,” he sings, because he’s an asshole.

“I have a problem,” I drawl.

“I have a solution,” he replies.

I scratch my neck, unsure of where to begin. “Did you tell Kody where I would be tonight?”

He clicks his tongue. “That would require me knowing where you would be.”

“Did you tell her I own the club?”

“Nope.”

I narrow my eyes at him as I examine the body. “Did you tell her about the club at all?”

“She doesn’t know you own it or that you’d be there,” he clarifies. “Why?”

“So, she’s just leaving dead bodies all over downtown now?” I ask with a calm I don’t feel.

He snorts. “What? Hold on. Can you repeat that?”

“Did you just put me on speakerphone?”

“I did. I want Ali to hear what I think you just said.”

I grind my teeth at their carelessness. “I was standing on the balcony, and I thought I saw Kody come into the club. But the woman had black hair.”

“Well, that’s not Blondie,” Ali supplies.

“And then I realized it was Kody,” I add. “In a wine red dress and a black wig.”

My brother sighs wistfully. “Was it the tight dress, kind of short, but modest cleav—”

“Really, Drew?” I snap. “There’s a dead guy on my office floor. And I just watched her walk out of this room with flushed cheeks and a smirk.”

“You didn’t help her?” Ali inquires.

“Uhm. No,” I reply sarcastically. “I thought she was fucking him—”

“Oh.” Drew chuckles. “You thought this was about you?”

I take a deep breath, then opt to breathe through my mouth because my office fucking stinks.

“I’m a little concerned,” I continue. “She left him here without knowing who owns this club. That’s worse than knowing this is my office.”
