No. Fangs won’t be an issue.

He wants Clay dead almost as much as I do.

And Clay wants proof that I’ve found Walker. This guy gave it to him. Not that a man’s t-shirt is concrete proof. It’s enough for him to leap off the nearest Cliff of Conclusions, though.

If only the fall would kill him…

My guess is Clay found Walker before I did.

The moment he got word of my move to Meena Beach, he would assume I was here for my mate.

Now, he’ll escalate.

Things will get out of hand quickly if I’m not on my toes, which is fine with me.

I didn’t spend the last year only looking for Walker.

I’m prepared for whatever Clay throws at us, though I know he’s not ready for me.

New goal: get rid of Clay to get rid of the danger.

I’m standing in the hidden stairwell when she exits my office alone, cheeks flushed as she tugs at the bottom of her dress. A growl builds in my chest, but I push it down. There’s a chance she wouldn’t even hear me, though.

Background noise will always be her downfall.

I move in her direction, planning to follow her out and ask what the fuck she’s doing here.

Not that I don’t want her here… But I don’t want some douchebag college kid grinding on her while she dances.

The idea of anyone touching her makes me violent.

I tolerate Drew and Ali because they’re her mates, too. And the honey badger is my brother.

Now that she’s near, I can’t stomach the thought of her being with anyone else.

Was fucking some random guy in my office a sick way of getting back at me for being a dick?

The unwanted imagery stops me in my tracks. I take three steps backward, gripping the handle of my office door like I might rip it off.

Confront her or confront him?

He didn’t leave before her, so she got what she wanted and dipped.

Nope.

I don’t like that.

The decision is simple.

Beat the shit out of him.

Then follow her home.

I swing the door open with too much force and blink in surprise.

I shouldn’t be surprised. I’ve known Kody our entire lives, seen the good and the bad. The sweet and the bloody.

It’s still a shock to see the dead guy lying on my floor, though.
