Vaughn leaned back, groaning as he scrubbed at his face. “I hate that you three don’t sleep. You’re fucking exhausting.”
“We sleep,” Stone corrected, pointing between himself and me. “Not much, but we do.”
“You know what I meant,” my fae grumbled, crawling his naked ass out of the bed. “I’m going to shower. How much time do we have before we leave?”
“We have an hour and a half before we’re supposed to show up,” Stone answered. “So we have thirty minutes before Palmer comes up here and starts screeching at us about being late.”
“Why must we get there an hour early?” I whined. “It’s a fucking bar. There is no such thing as being late.”
Vaughn wandered into the bathroom as a pile of clothes landed in the middle of the bed. I still needed to pick out something to wear.
“We’re not getting there an hour early,” Novak responded. “We’re getting there thirty minutes early.”
“What?” I asked, glancing at the door when the shower turned on.
“We have a thirty-minute drive, not counting Friday night traffic in that part of Nashville…” He shrugged. “Plus, Palmer likes to be punctual.”
“It’s a supes only bar. And we know everyone that will be there. Why can’t we step through the Void?”
Stone straightened his black t-shirt as he told me, “We don’t know where it is.”
“Why can’t I go and summon you when I get there?” I suggested. “Or better yet, you can just track me.”
The water shut off, and I grinned. This waiting game was killing me, but if he didn’t notice them right away... I wouldn’t tell him.
“What the fuck?” Vaughn whispered, then shouted, “Sloane!”
“Yes?” I sang.
“Here we go,” Novak muttered to Stone.
Vaughn stormed out of the bathroom, and I kept my face carefully neutral.
“What the fuck is this?” he demanded, pointing between his legs.
“Your dick.”
“Don’t be a smart ass.”
“My pussy is crafty,” I stated matter-of-factly.
It took every ounce of self-control I possessed to say that with a straight face.
“I was in your mouth.”
“Hid them under my tongue,” I volleyed.
“Try again.”
I sighed, defeated. “I saw them from Novak’s room.”
“Low blow,” my vampire breathed, stepping forward with the white tube in his hand. “She did it, and she used this glue.”
“Then why do you have it?” Vaughn inquired.
Stone chuckled, propping himself against the headboard as he watched us.
“She threw it at me,” Novak defended.
