Instead, Kira felt calm and even a little excited, as if she were going to a party with Nathaniel. She wore a tight, gold minidress that glittered, with matching earrings and tall black heels that made it almost impossible to walk. They were not exactly comfortable, and she was unsure about the black straps that criss-crossed from her ankles up to her calves, which she felt were sexy to the point of indecent.
“Forget it, I’m not wearing these,” Kira said, reaching to undo the strap but losing balance.
She wobbled dangerously on the stilettos until Nathaniel steadied her.
“Leave them on,” he said huskily. “I like seeing you this way.”
“What, helpless?” Kira grumbled as he helped her sit on a chair. “I’d rather shoes I can walk in.”
Nathaniel leant over her, a hand on the armrests either side of her, trapping her in. “I’d rather shoes I can fuck you in.”
“No problem,” she snapped. “You wear them then.”
He laughed and made to stand, but she seized his necktie, which was silky black and striped with sparkling gold.
“Was this intentional?” she asked, holding him in place.
“Is what intentional, pet?”
“Your necktie. It matches my dress.”
Nathaniel frowned and glanced down. “Frankly, I hadn’t noticed.”
“Oh.” The fact that he’d unconsciously coordinated his outfit with hers was sweet. But although it made her glad, she had to put their mission objective first. “Maybe you should wear a different tie.”
“Oh? Why’s that?”
“Well, are you trying to make Gloria jealous, or piss her off?”
He blinked in surprise, then locked eyes with her.
“I’m trying to make her my wife. So…” His gaze flickered down to take in her gold dress, which was clinging to her curves, roving unapologetically before snapping back up. “What do you recommend?”
Kira swallowed as he lowered his head, the silk tie slackening in her hold as his lips came within inches of hers. “Well, I…”
She couldn’t form the words. His arctic blue eyes were unnerving, his chiselled face too distracting.
A smile tugged at his lips, and he tilted his head and kissed her neck, his mouth sensual as he trailed hot touches with his lips up to her jawline.
Kira’s breathing turned shallow, the silk tie slipping through her fingers as her head dropped backwards.
“You were saying?” he asked.
“Um…”
She gasped as Nathaniel hiked up her short dress, pushed her legs apart, and knelt in between them to kiss her inner thigh.
“Yes, pet?” Nathaniel murmured, pressing kisses up along her leg until he reached her clit, his breath hot and inviting.
She wasn’t wearing any panties—Nathaniel’s orders—and she felt exposed and vulnerable as he gripped her thighs and slid his warm tongue around her clit.
“Fuck,” she said, her head lolling back as his open mouth explored her, his tongue delving into her slit to ravish her. A deep rumbling built in his throat, so low she hardly heard it except for the way it made her body quake.
“I asked you a question, pet,” he growled, pulling back and delivering a long, wet stroke with his tongue.
It took her a moment to remember what they’d been talking about, and then she twitched as he dipped his tongue back inside her.
He lifted his head, his eyes intense and unreadable as he studied her. “Well? Shall I change my tie to a different one?”
