“Let me make you come, Angel.”

My eyes pop open when I feel his lips on mine and I know I should push him away and tell him no, but the truth is he is the only person who has made me feel remotely desirable in a long time, so I allow it. He slides his tongue into my mouth and tangles his with mine in a slow kiss that wakes my entire body. Placing his hands on either side of my face, he holds me like I might try to get away. If I were smart, I probably would.

He groans as he deepens our kiss and moves his hand into my hair while still holding the other one to my face. As he breaks our kiss, he takes my bottom lip between his teeth and bites down, causing me to whimper.

Flashing me that sexy crooked smile, he says, “That’s it, isn’t it, Angel? Are you going to be my pretty little pain slut?”

I tilt my head at him before shaking my head.

“I’m not having sex with you, Jett.”

His expression registers shock because I’m sure in his experience, one kiss means he gets laid. I don’t make him ask. Instead, I offer the truth as painful as it is.

“I’m not what I once was. Trust me, you don’t want to see me naked. Not anymore.”

In the past year, I’ve gained thirty pounds. One hundred fifty pounds for a woman isn’t considered fat, but for a model, it is. We are judged under an unforgiving microscope. The end-result was the loss of my job. Not just my current job as an angel. My agent fired me. My manager walked away. In the span of a week, I lost everything. The thought of adding to that a man seeing me naked and watching his face turn from want to disgust is far more than I can handle in my current state.

“What?” he asks.

Glancing away from him, I respond, “I’m fat, Jett.”

“Fat,” he says quietly, as if he has never heard the word before.

His eyes fill with confusion as he shakes his head in disbelief.

“You really don’t know how beautiful you are, do you?”

I stare down at my lap because looking at him while I confess my deepest, darkest feelings is painful.

“I know I used to be beautiful. My looks paid my bills, I’m not an idiot, but things are different now. I’m different now.”

If I learned anything from McKinley’s situation, it’s that people eventually believe what you say about them. And now I’m‌ on the receiving end of those hurtful words. My agent, manager, the costume designer, the production team, and even the other girls all ridiculed me for my weight gain until eventually I lost everything. My agent tried to be helpful by referring me to an agency that handles plus-sized models, but I won’t go that route. The paparazzi have been brutal with headlines like ‘What’s Eating Mia Montgomery’. It all gets in your head and changes how you view yourself.

Jett undoes his seatbelt and stands as I look on in confusion. Is he going to sit somewhere else? Leaning down, he also unfastens my restraint. Placing his hands on my waist, and lifts me over his shoulder as I squeal loudly.

“What the hell are you doing?” I yell.

He doesn’t respond, so I warn him with a shaky voice.

“Jett, put me down. You’re going to hurt yourself. I’m not light.”

He chuckles. “You think I can’t carry this gorgeous body? Angel, you aren’t fucking fat. You’re perfect.”

Jett sets me on my feet and I glance around the bedroom quickly before looking back at him as he brushes his fingers down the side of my face.

“So goddamn beautiful, Angel. That has never changed.”

The way Jett gazes at me with so much desire causes me to feel emotions I wasn’t prepared for. Nobody has looked at me like this in a long time.

“Let me show you how gorgeous you are.”

Chapter Five

JETT

“This is a bad idea,” she says in a whisper, and she’s right—for her, it is. I have every intention of fucking her so good, she’ll never get enough. I need to make her forget all ‌her reservations.
