Morwenna looked toward the window, and it was such a little one that only opened so much, and it pissed her off. She tried to jam it open even wider. Bolt was useless as he was still completely out of it.

She let out a growl as she grabbed a chair from across the room and jammed it under the door handle. All those years of her father’s training were kicking in, and it was actually helping. She breathed a sigh of relief but knew they were not in the clear yet. This was a nightmare. Standing in the center of the bedroom, she hadn’t long called Venom. He was the only person she could think to call.

The memory of Star’s face and the attack kept replaying in her mind. This was bad.

At the sound of Bolt’s moan, she quickly pulled out of the panic she was trying to gain control of, and moved toward him on the bed.

“What the fuck?” Bolt asked.

His words were slightly slurred but she understood him.

“Bolt,” Morwenna said.

“Wen?”

She hated that name.

She crawled on the bed and knelt beside him as he rubbed his temples. “Am I dreaming?” he asked.

“No, you’re not.”

“My face hurts.”

“I’ve been slapping you to try and get you to wake up.”

Bolt frowned and then groaned as he moved. “Star gave me drugs.” His lips pressed together, and he did something weird with his mouth. “I don’t know what they did.”

“She drugged you to get you out of the clubhouse.” Morwenna slapped him, hard.

“Ouch.”

She slapped him again, and he tried to capture her hand, but it was pointless. He was no match for her. She slapped him again, and she saw he was losing his temper, but she didn’t care. She wanted to keep slapping him, because what he did to himself was dangerous. She was so angry at him, but also afraid as they were both trapped together, and she didn’t know how they were going to get out of this. There was real fear.

She took a deep breath as she finally dropped her hands and just glared at him.

“The Karamazov have us,” Morwenna said. “Your ... girlfriend. She was working for them. They’re the ones that gave her the freaking drugs.”

“Wen, I’m so sorry.”

She wanted to refer to Star as his whore, but that didn’t seem right.

Tears filled her eyes as she looked at Bolt, but she realized she didn’t love him anymore. That love had died over a year ago, when each time she thought of their time together, she became aware that this hadn’t been a real relationship. This had been a fight between the two of them from the beginning. Only, she gave in to Bolt at every turn.

“All you ever think about is yourself. Where are your kids, Bolt? What were you thinking in leaving the clubhouse?”

Bolt opened his mouth and then closed it.

“She must have had a magical pussy to make you do everything you’ve done.”

“Wen, please,” he said.

“I had sex with Venom,” Morwenna said.

She watched as he instantly froze.

“What?”
