“You’re right, so why don’t we go back there and say we were just joking? Do you trust your opinion then?” her mother asked.

There was no way she was going back there. No way in hell. She put her foot to the gas and headed all the way back to Dwellers Point. There was no way she was going to just ignore this. The drive consisted of her mother texting on her cell phone, while at the same time looking around at the passing cars. That wasn’t normal. This was insane.

She arrived home, with no cars following them, but her father was outside the front door, gun in hand, and her mother was feeling erratic. Morwenna climbed out of the car and made her way toward her parents.

“It was them, I’m certain of it.”

“It was them, who?” she asked, looking from her mother to her father, and it looked like they were going to immediately clam up, and she was not interested in them keeping her in the dark. “Seriously, you think you’re going to be able to hide this from me? Are you completely insane? Mom went crazy because some random guy decided to drive way too close to the car. He was being intimidating, and Mom was freaking out. He then drove around us, and you start acting strange again. I have no idea what is going on right now, and you’re freaking me out because of it. None of this makes sense. Then at the house, there was some guy claiming to be a real estate agent, or perhaps he was some kind of real estate agent, I don’t know, but right now, I do not think this is funny, and you need to tell me what the hell is going on?”

She took a deep breath and expected her parents to either laugh or brush off her fear, instead, her father looked at her, so withdrawn.

“You better go inside,” Gus said. “This may take a while.”

“It feels good, doesn’t it?” Star asked.

Bolt looked toward her, and even though her voice wasn’t the same, if he focused hard enough, he could see Morwenna looking back at him. His beautiful Morwenna with her brown eyes and long, brown hair. He knew she’d changed it recently, but that didn’t matter.

“You’re so beautiful, Wen,” he said.

There was a brief pause to her smiling lips, and it seemed to tighten as if she wasn’t happy with her name.

“Sorry, you don’t like being called Wen, do you? You’re so beautiful, Morwenna.” He reached up and pressed a hand to her face, and she let out a little moan.

It sounded nothing like the moans he was used to from Morwenna, but that didn’t matter. The way people sounded changed all the time, and Morwenna was here with him. He gripped her chin and looked into her eyes as he kissed her.

She didn’t kiss like Morwenna either. His Morwenna took her time, she liked the anticipation. This kiss was all tongue, and moving way too fast. The moment he pulled away, he stared at Star, and he wrinkled his nose.

“Get off me.”

They were both naked, and Bolt looked down to see that his dick was still inside her. They were covered in sweat, and the last few hours (or was it days?) had been hazy. He knew it was the drugs, but Star was not wrong in that the drugs made him believe he was with Morwenna.

Only, he’d never fucked Morwenna in the ass, like he had Star. It felt good to at least imagine what Morwenna would do with his dick there. For a long time, he tried to just fuck Star in the ass so he didn’t have to wear a condom or worry about her getting pregnant, but that hadn’t lasted. Staring at where they were joined, he hated himself.

“Get the fuck off me.”

“I have more remedy at my home,” Star said.

“I told you to leave me the fuck alone.”

“You want to be with Morwenna. You’ve got to get me out of this clubhouse, and if you come with me, I’ll give you what you need, and you can be with Morwenna again. I can do this for you.”

Bolt frowned. “Why?”

“Because I love you, Bolt, and I want to be with you, and this is the way I can do it. I’m desperate.”

He didn’t like the sound of that. He was tired.

Closing his eyes, he thought about Morwenna, how beautiful she was, and how he hadn’t been able to see her for so long. She hadn’t smiled at him in a long time. They hadn’t made love, or been together. His wife didn’t want anything to do with him, for good reason. He wasn’t good enough for her, never had been. She deserved someone better.

But that horrible little voice in the back of his mind that he kept on trying to ignore, simply wondered what would the harm be, to have one more try.

It was cold out.

Venom sat in the dark, looking toward the gate. In the distance, a couple of the guys had set fire to some trash cans and were enjoying a cold beer and the warmth of the fire. He folded his arms and watched for any threat.
