Venom snorted. “Then he’s doing a piss-poor job of it, and if he’s not said anything, ask him what Morwenna found while looking for an apartment where Star lives.” That was all he was going to say.

“Seriously?” Maverick asked.

“Yeah, seriously. Considering your boy was caught with his pants down a year ago, you’d think he would try and keep it in his pants while trying to win back his woman, but nope. That boy is constantly fucking up, seeing as she now knows he’s got three kids.”

Maverick shook his head. “That boy will never learn.”

“Maybe it’s time to tell him he needs to back off?” he asked. “That maybe he should sign the divorce papers.”

“It’s not my place.”

“You’re the only one who will give her the closure she needs,” Venom said.

“Be careful, Venom,” Maverick said.

“She’s a good woman. You know it, and so do I, and what your son is doing to her, that’s uncalled for.” He tossed his bag into his car and didn’t bother looking back at Maverick. He said his piece, and the fact still remained that Bolt would not divorce her and yet, there was no mistaking him fucking Star a few weeks ago.

Climbing back into his truck, he made the long drive out to the ranch house and parked, finding Gus already there, leaning against his truck. He should have known this was coming.

Parking his truck, Gus climbed out and grabbed his bag.

“I already have one man who is constantly breaking my daughter’s heart,” Gus said.

Venom stopped. “I don’t intend to break your daughter’s heart. I’m just having a little freedom, and I’m getting some good food out of it. Also, I’ll take all the rest back to the clubhouse with me.”

“She likes you, you know,” Gus said.

He was aware of that, and he also knew the reason why.

“I’ve not lied to her. I’ve been away for five years, and I didn’t know the shit that was going down. Everyone else lied. Right now, that is all she sees. Did you know?”

Gus looked at him. “I was aware.”

“And yet, you want to threaten me while you do nothing?”

“I told Bolt to end it.”

“Guess what, he didn’t, and he still hasn’t. Everyone kept turning a blind eye to the shit that was happening, and now Morwenna is out in the middle of fucking nowhere. I’m here to take care of her, nothing else.”

He was not afraid of Gus. In all honesty, he wasn’t afraid of anyone.

Nor was he afraid of death.

He simply didn’t give a fuck, because he’d accepted his lot in life.

Chapter Six

Bolt was pissed.

Morwenna waited until he was out of town to go to their home, and she removed every single thing she owned. All the kitchen equipment was gone, apart from the stuff he’d purchased for her. All of her clothes were gone too. Everything she bought was gone. Completely gone. It pissed him off.

Only the framed photograph of their wedding remained. Every image of the two of them together was still in their home.

Riding down the driveway to her home, he spotted Venom’s truck. His father had already told him Venom had moved in with Morwenna.

He knew about the freaking house. He knew about everything, and it pissed him off. He was so fucking angry, his blood was boiling.

Parking his bike, he expected them to come to the door, but instead, he stormed up the few steps onto the main porch and slammed his fist against the door. How dare Venom! That was his fucking wife.
