He rubbed his cock along her opening and he could feel how slick she was. He entered her slowly, and she pressed back against him. Burying himself deep inside her, he pressed a hand against her belly to hold her close and rubbed her clit with the other. He pulled out and thrust back inside her, feeling her clamp down around him.
With the warm water pouring between them, her heat surrounding him, and the sliding of their wet bodies together, he was losing his battle with control.
“Faster,” she whispered, and he couldn’t stop the growl that came out of his mouth.
“Fuck, I’ve been waiting for you all day. Any faster, and it’ll be over too soon. Hold still, Liv, you’re making me crazy.”
“I can’t,” she whispered, writhing against him. He dropped a hand to her hips and held her still as he pounded into her, all the little sounds coming from her throat egging him on, until he felt the telltale ripples of her body around his shaft. He picked up his speed, and she exploded around him, drawing out his own response instantly. She sagged against him and he held her up, just barely able to stay upright himself.
When his breathing finally slowed he turned her around, took her face in both hands, and kissed her softly.
“I think I like shower sex,” she said.
“You’ve never had shower sex before?” The thought of being her first at something made him want to pound his chest like the caveman she thought he was.
She dug her teeth into her lower lip and shook her head. “You couldn’t tell?”
“Hell, no.” He reached behind her to grab the shampoo. “That was some pretty damned fine shower sex.”
Liv gave him a shy smile, and he was ready to do it all over again. Maybe a little slower this time. And with those long legs wrapped around him like they were in the ocean. But that would have to wait.
They’d kept everyone else waiting long enough. He poured shampoo into his palm. “Turn around again. Let’s get cleaned up before everyone starves to death. I’m in charge of dinner, and it’s getting late.”
He sudsed up her hair and she hummed as he ran his fingers over her scalp, placing her hands on the rock wall again and making him want to skip dinner. And breakfast. And any other meal he might consider in lieu of doing this. Now he finally understood the rats in that experiment, the ones who starved to death while endlessly pushing some bar that stimulated the pleasure centers in their brains. Apparently he had about as much self-control as a rat.
They spent time soaping each other up, rubbing their slick, soapy bodies together, and rinsing off.
Matt shut off the water and reached for a towel. He draped it over Liv’s head until it covered her face and shoulders. She giggled. “That’s not exactly how it’s done, but thank you.”
“Let’s go get this dinner thing over with.” He grabbed a towel for himself. “I want you back in my bed within the hour.”
Liv smiled. “It’s a date.”

Liv
An alarm clock blared and Liv groaned, reaching out to silence it. Her hand landed on a hot, hard chest and she opened her eyes. Matt was sound asleep next to her, sprawled out on his back and completely naked.
She rubbed her eyes and sat up. There was no alarm ringing. Hell, there wasn’t even an end table. Just the song of a thousand birds waking up with the dawn, so loud it was almost deafening. From where she sat behind the mosquito netting, she couldn’t see a single bird. The grove of trees outside the room was so thick with leaves, nothing else was visible.
She ran a finger lightly down Matt’s chiseled chest but he didn’t stir, and that was probably for the best. Because her whole body ached. They’d made the most of their time together, that was for sure. She’d probably had more sex in one night than she did in her entire relationship with Grant.
Grant.
Liv dropped her head into her hands. She hadn’t thought of him once since she’d gotten on that boat yesterday. She hadn’t rummaged through her memory wondering what went wrong, wondering if she wasn’t good enough, or if she should have done something differently. Twenty-four Grant-free hours was a new record for her. And it felt good. While it lasted.
If nothing else, her time with Matt was helping her move on. And that was worth everything. Except maybe a brand-new heartache. It worried her that Matt wasn’t the arrogant jerk she’d thought he was when they met. He was thoughtful and funny and sexy as hell. And he made her feel like she mattered every time they were together. She could get used to that in a man. She wanted that.
But he didn’t want anything more than this. And she’d do well to remember it.
Liv threw off the sheet and got out of bed.
Slipping on a cotton tank dress and flip-flops, she left the palapa and strolled toward the kitchen. The early morning air was cool, and the sky was a nifty shade of pale blue, just light enough to see the dirt pathway beneath her feet. Now that the sun was rising, the birds had quieted enough that she could hear the frogs croaking, and realized they’d been part of the cacophony of sounds that had jarred her awake.
The forest pressed in so closely around their little enclave that it felt like a protected little sanctuary. Every building in the clearing seemed to blend in with its surroundings, and despite how well maintained they were, they looked like they’d been here forever. She felt like she’d taken a trip in time back to Old Mexico, where everything was rugged and unspoiled.
A yellow light flickered in the kitchen, so she wasn’t the only one awake. She climbed the rock stairs into the little standalone building.
