I’m not sure.
Indie scoots over and then she’s kneeling in front of Donovan. I catch McKay’s eye as he gets to his feet and walks towards me. Naked. His long, hard dick swinging between his legs. A grin on his face. He pushes me, two hands on my shoulders, hard enough to force me to take a step back.
“Did she drug you?” I ask it because… I don’t know. We had our first kiss a day and a half ago. We spent our first night together last night. And now, we’re here?
“No.” McKay laughs. He pushes me again and I run out of room. And then McKay’s hands press flat against the wall on either side of my head. Boxing me in. He leans into me, pressing his bare chest up against mine.
He kisses me. But I hesitate. I’m just so certain that there’s something going on here that I’m missing, I can’t shake the feeling.
“I thought you wanted this?” McKay whispers.
“I do.”
“Then what’s the problem?”
“Is Indie—”
“She’s fine. We’re all fine.”
“McKay, we need to talk about what happened today.” I say it quietly so Indie can’t hear us. “If she—”
“Shut up, Adam. It’s late. We’re all here. Finally, on the same page. We’ve got time for that tomorrow.”
“But do you agree, you think she should know?”
“She will.” He pulls back and looks me in the eye. “I promise. We’ll tell her. But not tonight. We’ve earned this moment. We put in fourteen long years, Adam. We’ve been through everything together and we’re still here. We made it. Why can’t we enjoy it for just one night?”
“Are you guys gonna have your own private party over there?”
I look over McKay’s shoulder at Indie. She’s smiling at me. She was always a pretty girl, but tonight she looks downright beautiful, her face and shoulders kissed by the sun she got on the river today, her blonde hair bleached a little lighter than it normally is in the winter. And she looks happy. It’s been so long since I’ve seen Indie truly happy. Years. Maybe… never?
“Well?” McKay is impatient.
I’ve always wanted her to be happy. I did try my best, it was just never enough. But I can make her happy tonight. Give her this control over us. Let her know I love her, because I do. I really do love this girl. She was my first. The very first girl I ever cared this much for. The only one, until Maggie came, who filled my thoughts even when she wasn’t around.
I made a lot of mistakes. I don’t deny it. Pretty much everything I did with her, to her, for her—it was wrong on many levels.
But it saved her. Nathan St. James was wrong this morning. He wasn’t the one who saved her, I was.
I was.
I look at McKay and nod. “OK.”
And then he kisses me. It’s longer this time. Harder. More urgent and erotic.
After all these years, after all that indecision. Here he is. Giving me exactly what I asked for.
I push him off me. His head juts back in surprise. But I just grin at him. “Are we gonna stand over here and be antisocial? Or are we gonna join them?”
McKay chuckles. “Let’s go.”
He follows me over to Donovan and Indie, but when I make to sit down, he grabs the belt loop of my shorts and slips his hand inside.
I draw in a quick hiss of breath as his hand wraps around my growing cock and begins to pump it. Gripping it hard as he kisses me. I pop the button on my shorts and drag the zipper down to give him better access, then let them drop to the floor.
He pulls back for just a moment. Our eyes meet and then I’m all in.
Fuck it. If we get one perfect night, I’m not gonna waste it.
