“How can you say that? How can you even think it’s better?” I challenged. “You’re not hurting only yourself, you’re hurting them too. You’re denying them their amazing brother. You’re denying them a chance to know how great of a man you are.”

He scoffed, “I doubt there’s a single person on this Earth who would agree with you on that.”

My nails bit his skin, “Don’t do that. Don’t throw away my words. I see you. I see how amazing you are. I feel it. You’ve been taking care of me since the moment we met. You’re gentle, generous with your time. I’ve seen you with Max and heard you talk with Chace on the phone. No matter what, you have all the time in the world for them. Do you honestly think Max would go so out of his way to be there for you, for me, if he didn’t also see that? Do you think Cahce would tease you on the phone, if he didn’t think it, too? You tried to hide it from me behind your scowls, and I’ll admit, it took me some time, but once you lowered your walls, that was all I could see.”

“Dynamo,” he groaned, his eyes flashing.

“You can’t hide in the shadows anymore, Warden. I won’t let you.”

I shifted and moved into him.

Going up on my tiptoes, I touched his lips with mine.

Inhaling, I laid everything before him. I knew he would never let something happen to me. So I took a big breath, and let it fly, "Because, I love you, Carter Ryan.”

Chapter Twenty One

Carter

She was all I could see, all I could feel. Her hands dragging up my chest, her smell in my nose, her taste teasing my lips.

She looked deeply in my eyes, and all I could see there was peace, “Because I love you, Carter Ryan.”

Her words felt like a mighty full, velvet bow to my gut. My entire being shifted with them.

I grasped her waist, “Again,” I whispered. “Say it again.”

Her lips moved in a barely there smile, “I love you.”

“Dynamo.” My hands squeezed her. “ I love you, too.”

I looked into her beautiful eyes, and admitted, “I’m terrified of losing you.”

Her hands fisted in my T-shirt, “ All my life I wanted to belong to someone, to have someone to call mine. I’m scared, too. But, I won’t allow that fear to cripple me. We can be scared together.”

My heart beat in my chest like crazy, my hands shook, and the world tilted. A war was waging inside of me, and this time I wasn’t going to let it beat me.

She pressed a hand over my chest, right over my tattoo there, “I only feel safe when I’m with you, Carter. Hold on to me, don’t let go.”

I swallowed, my hand going up her body, and palming the side of her neck, “I don’t think I could walk away from you even if my life depended on it, Dynamo. You’ve branded yourself in my very core. I can’t sleep when I’m not with you, can’t eat, I can barely even think. You’re everything. Everything that’s worth something in my life. There’s no me without you.”

Fire flared in Harley’s eyes.

“Show me,” she breathed. “Show me the way you love me.”

I moved then. Bending down, I grabbed her just where he ass met her thighs and hoisted her up. Her legs came around my hips. Her lips touched mine.

In three long strides I was standing in front of the bed.

I lowered her to the floor, my breaths going shallow as her sweet pussy dragged against my stiff cock.

“You have no idea what you do to me.”

She swallowed, her pulse thrumming visibly, “Show me.”

I reached down, and slowly peeled her sweatshirt off her body.

“Arms up,” I could even hear the rasp in my voice.
