“Ten o’clock is perfect. See you tomorrow, William. Tell Mary I said hi.”
“I will, sweetheart. Thank you for inviting us. It’s going to be fun.”
She ended the call with a big grin on her face.
“I can’t believe you just did that,” I said.
“Why? You should know me by now,” she smirked.
“You know what?” I started walking toward her.
She took off running.
Chapter Thirty-Three
Simon
“Oh, you’re in trouble now,” I smirked as I went after her.
She ran into the living room, laughing as she glanced over her shoulder at me.
“You have to catch me first,” she said.
“That won’t be a problem.” I was inches away from grabbing her when she jumped over the couch. “What the hell?” I went around one end of the couch, and she immediately ran the other way into the kitchen. By the time I got there, she stood on the opposite side of the island. We stared across at each other.
“You done?” I asked.
“Are you?” Her brow raised.
“I haven’t even started.” I smiled.
I moved right, and she moved left. I went left, and she immediately went right.
“Seriously?” I asked.
“You’re the one chasing me.” She grinned.
“Because you ran!”
“Maybe I wanted to see if you could catch me, Mr. Montclair.” A bright smile crossed her beautiful face.
“I can and will catch you,” I said.
“You seem very confident for a man standing all the way over there,” she smirked.
“Come here, Bella.”
“No.” She held her stance.
“Bella, I’m giving you one chance to surrender.”
“Or what?” She laughed.
“You really want to find out?” I raised my brow.
“I’m not scared of you, Montclair.”
“You should be.”
