“Hungry?” she asked as I joined her and clamped my hands on her hipbone to kiss her.

“Starving.”

She pressed one hand to my chest. “Perfect. I made you breakfast.”

“You did?”

In all the time we’d been together, Savannah never cooked anything. Either I did or we ordered from some restaurant in town.

“Yes. I like surprising you.”

“I love it too.”

Her smile magnified. “Yes. I hope you have nothing planned for today because I want us to just be all day. Before we need to get ready for the premiere tonight.”

“You sure?” I tipped one brow to make sure I wasn’t dreaming and Savannah wasn’t bullshitting me.

Her arms wound around my neck. “Yes. I’m playing housewife.”

I kissed her. “You are? Am I dead, or am I imagining this?”

She leaned back and laughed. A genuine laugh this time. “Only for today, though. It’s a one-time thing. For now. And then we’ll see.” She shrugged. “If I like it.”

I tugged her closer, and her laughter increased. “Thanks.” My lips claimed hers, and when she purred, I deepened the kiss.

I missed this version of her so much.

And right now, I couldn’t get enough of the sweet woman she was.

We ate breakfast together. And my hopes we could move forward with our relationship skyrocketed.

I could see myself being happy. Yeah, this time, it felt real.

For the rest of the day, we cuddled on the couch, unable to keep our hands, and every other body part, to ourselves.

Hours later, we were getting ready for the movie premiere. The one Savannah requested a new dress for weeks ago. She had a small role in the blockbuster. I had made a reservation at her favorite restaurant and rented a limo to make the event one to remember forever. After all, she would never get another first movie premiere ever again.

I adjusted my cufflinks and bowtie and met her at the beauty station, as she called it. It was more like a makeup and hairdresser counter you see only on a movie set. Another extravaganza she demanded when we moved in. It made her happy, which meant it made me happy too.

“Hey,” I said, leaning forward to kiss the back of her neck. “You smell great.”

“I know,” she said, mirroring my smile. This time, her overconfident personality didn’t seem forced. It didn’t even sound narcissistic. More like a fact.

And I loved how Savannah wasn’t afraid to believe in herself and her abilities. And always go for what she desired. Not a lot of people reached for their dreams.

She spun on her stool and moved to her feet.

Her red satin robe opened and puddled on the floor, revealing a sinful matching set of crimson bra and panties.

“Fuck—”

A victorious grin lit up her face. “I knew you wouldn’t be able to resist.”

She winked, and I wrapped her in my arms, filling my nose with the delicious scent of her.

Confident and strong. That’s what it should be called. And bottled up. We would make a fortune on it.
