Cody grunted and folded his hands together on top of the steering wheel. “Where to now?”
“Feel like driving back out to the cemetery?”
Cody’s eyebrows went up. “Eternal Rest?”
“Yeah.”
“You want to sit by the Widow’s grave and wait for her to come back?”
“Um, no. I want to see if we can find a guy I saw there.”
Cody gave him a side-eye as he started the engine and pulled out of the library parking lot. “Care to elaborate on that before I switch to jealous husband mode?”
“Aw, you’ve got a jealous husband mode?” Demetrius put a hand on Cody’s thigh. “That’s good to hear.”
“I’m not hearing an explanation.”
“Oh, wow. Okay. I see that mode’s already been activated. Well then, I saw this guy with a beard out at Buford Heights cemetery earlier this week. During the Widow’s funeral this morning, I saw him again at Eternal Rest.”
“Okay. Maybe he knows people buried in both places?”
“No, he was working there. I mean, he told me he was part of the groundskeeping crew at Buford Heights, and he looked like he was working at the cemetery this morning, too.”
“Huh.” Cody bit his lower lip as he thought it over. “That is weird. I wouldn’t think both cemeteries would have hired the same guy.”
“Right, that’s what I thought, too. Oliver and I were going to talk to him, but then Dottie stole the car and everything went a little crazy.” Demetrius turned in his seat to look at Cody’s profile. “Oh, have you heard from Lucia about the car?”
“Nope. Not a word. But let’s back up a bit.” Cody turned onto Main Street which would turn into Route 118 outside of the downtown area and take them to Hollow of Eternal Rest cemetery. “You and Oliver were going to approach this guy?”
“He saw me looking at him and asked me about him. He offered to go with me as I asked the guy what he was doing out there.”
“Uh huh.”
“Oh come on, can jealousy mode be toned down a bit? I wasn’t asking the guy out. I was investigating.”
“Okay. But just know that once jealous husband mode is activated, it’s difficult to shut down.”
“Really? What does that get me?”
“Get you?”
“Well, sure. If you’re jealous, I would hope you’d do something to show me why I should stay with you, and not go shopping around for someone new.”
Cody pulled onto the shoulder of the road and put the truck in Park. He unbuckled his seat belt and flung it aside. Leaning in over the armrest and center console, Cody took Demetrius’s face between his big palms, the skin warm and slightly damp. Before Demetrius could think of a thing to say, Cody planted a hard, deep kiss on him. He pushed his tongue past Demetrius’s lips and took possession of his mouth. The kiss deepened even more, and Cody practically chewed on Demetrius’s lips, kissing him, tongue pushing past his lips and pulling back, as if he were fucking Demetrius’s mouth.
Demetrius’s cock hardened and his head spun as he tried to keep up with the kiss. But he had no control over any of it, and he finally just relaxed and let Cody take possession of him.
After some time, Cody gave him a soft, final kiss and pulled away. He still held Demetrius’s face in his hands, and he stared into his eyes. Demetrius could barely see the warm brown iris for the size of Cody’s pupils.
“I love you, Demmy. More than anyone or anything.”
Demetrius swallowed and cleared his throat, unable to take his eyes from Cody’s. “I love you, too.”
“That’s just a taste of what jealous husband mode is going to get you. Tonight, I’m going to fuck you long, hard, and deep. I’m going to empty every drop of cum inside you and mark you. You are mine. Do you understand me?”
“Holy shit,” Demetrius whispered. “I almost came just now.”
“Don’t you fucking dare. You don’t come until I say. Do you understand me?”
