“Uff,” escaped before the one kiss turned into a dozen. Massaging circles on her back migrated to her ass and around to the now very awake female parts. Her legs spread on their own accord and lies to tell the boss drifted out of her head.

Ten minutes and a very fulfilling orgasm later, she gave him that quick kiss.

“Okay, you sure do know how to start the day, but I really have to go now.” She pried herself off him and backed out of the room.

In her shirt and undies, she snuck across the hall. She reached into her shorts pocket for her keys.

No keys. “Fuck.”

Dropping the other items, she dug in the other pockets. “Come on. I know they are in here somewhere.”

The door squeaked behind her.

She jumped. “Jesus, warn me before you do that.”

“Okay, not sure what you wanted me to do—knock?”

“Sorry. I can’t find my keys.”

“Hang on.” He disappeared into his apartment then came back a minute later with her keys dangling from his finger. “Did I tell you, Stinky’s a kleptomaniac? He has a hiding place in the laundry hamper.”

She snatched them from him. “I could arrest him for that.”

Trey laughed. She darted back and gave him a peck on the lips then backed away before she did something stupid, like stripping his sweatpants off and having her way with him right there in the hall.

“Have a good day.” He flashed her a killer smile.

Damn, was it hot in here?

She waved as she closed the door.

“What a night.” Amy melted against the door. “And the morning.”

The buzz from her phone slapped her out of her dreamlike haze.

Crap. She turned off her alarm and pushed off the door.

In twenty minutes flat, Amy showered, dressed, and was on her way. No workout today. She’d had plenty of exercise last night.

Peterson was the first person she saw when she walked into the station. “Hey. Did you hear that gray Honda showed up last night?”

She slammed her locker and whipped around. “Where?”

“Down by the river. Some kids were doing a little night fishing, if you know what I mean. It was stashed in the woods a quarter mile north of the docks. It’s in processing now.”

“Good. I hope they can pull prints.” She doubted they’d find any. This was a professional job. No way a hit man would be that sloppy.

She checked her gear, grabbed her tactical vest, and headed to her patrol car. Peterson stepped into pace with her. “Is it true that Fenley is BCA?”

Her stride faltered. “Who told you that?”

Not that she didn’t know. Only Ryan and Adam knew.

“It’s floating around this morning.” He stared at her, waiting for confirmation.

“You’ll have to ask him. I’m running late. See you later, Bob.” She slid into the car and shut the door.

Thoughts processed as she drove out of the garage. She wanted to call Ryan and chew him a new one but didn’t. Instead, she called Trey.
