As the sun set over the mountains outside, I stood in front of the closet in my cabin, wondering how the hell I was going to fit all my clothes in the few bags I had. Buying a suitcase had never made it to my shopping list. I’d just never needed one.

I had backpacks and duffel bags and exactly one overnight bag that I’d bought the last time I’d gone to visit my sister. With Remington working with Declan and Alan tonight and Laurene spending time with Cassidy at the Kids Camp, I’d decided to get a head start on packing.

I didn’t know when they wanted to leave. He and I hadn’t quite gotten that far earlier, and Alan had already told me that this cabin would always be mine, but I felt like I had to do something to prepare. Since I wasn’t formally moving out of here, all my other things would stay. At least for now.

But I’d need to bring clothes with me. At a tricky time of year, too. It was summer now and would be fall soon, and I didn’t really know if I’d get back here before the holidays—so winter. Which meant I needed a little bit of everything and I didn’t have nearly enough space to pack it.

Turning to glance at the bags I’d laid out near my bed, I wondered if there was some trick to packing that I didn’t know about. Women traveled all the time, into and out of lots of different seasons, and I didn’t think they had much more space than I did.

My thoughts were cut off by a knock at my door. Thinking it was Gracie, I smiled and thanked my lucky stars. She’d know what to do. She always did.

“Remington?” I blinked hard, pinching myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming this time either. “I thought you were with Declan and Alan tonight?”

“We wrapped up pretty fast,” he explained, stepping into me and taking my hips in his hands. “It turns out Declan really has been working since I left. The golf course expansion is pretty much ready to go and they’ve already started work at the Greens. There’s not much to discuss at the moment.”

My heart soared as I walked back into my place, my hands on his to keep them on my hips. “Is that so?”

“It is.” He smirked, moving his head forward a little bit. “Do I get a kiss to celebrate?”

“Oh, I think we can do a little bit better than that,” I teased, not stopping until I reached my bed. Winding my arms around his neck, I sat down and pulled him with me, sealing my lips over his as we fell onto the mattress.

“I came here to talk,” he murmured between fervent kisses, his hands already gripping the edge of my oversized T-shirt. “This is good too, though. Talk later?”

“Definitely later,” I promised. “I’ve missed you so much. Too much. Let’s just not talk for a while, okay?”

Instead of responding verbally, he kissed me harder. Then he lifted his body off mine to peel away my shirt before groaning into my mouth when he kissed me again. “I missed you too, baby. So much that I don’t think I’m going to blow your mind tonight.”

I giggled into his mouth, holding him tighter and wrapping my legs around him too. “You’re already blowing my mind, Remington Ford. You always do. Just for being you.”

He let out a hoarse groan and planted another hard kiss on my lips. Then he sailed down the length of my body, planting hot, open-mouthed kisses on my throat, chest, and stomach. Hooking his fingers into the waistband of my shorts, he pulled them off and discarded my panties quickly after.

He crushed his lips over mine. His tongue swept into my mouth, hungry and insistent, and he dragged his fingertips across my skin. Whisper-soft touches everywhere made me writhe for him in no time.

Still without breaking the kiss, he slid his fingers through my folds and my hips bucked off the bed. I whimpered into his mouth and reached for his shirt. He chuckled and lifted his arms to help me get it off, but then he went back to what he’d been doing.

“I love you, Birdie, but I want to see you come at least once before the rest of my clothes come off.” He slid a finger into me. I clenched around him, breathless at how good it felt as he started moving it in and out of me. “I never got my naughty selfies. You haven’t been a very good girl, have you?”

“Let’s see how good I am tonight, huh?” I wasn’t really focusing on what he was saying so much as the sensations he was eliciting from my body.

After two weeks of not being touched by him, I was already in a state of bliss, happy to agree to anything he wanted me to agree to so long as it meant he didn’t stop. When he suddenly did, my eyes flew open and I cried out. Then he gave my clit a soft little smack and I gasped.

My eyes locked on his. “More.”

It was only one word, but it was the only one he needed.

Smirking at me, he brought his head down and spoke against my mouth before he did it again. “Something tells me that wasn’t much of a punishment?”

“Nope,” I murmured, panting as the tiny sting of pain left pleasure racing through me. “Was it supposed to be?”

“Nah,” he whispered. “It was just a fun way of figuring out another thing that you like.”

With those words, he sealed his mouth back over mine, kissing me fiercely. His hands worked down below, pushing me higher and higher. It felt like he’d touched every part of me by the time he finally made me come, but once he’d started, he didn’t stop, doing it a couple more times as if to make up for lost time.

My skin was flushed and my mouth bone dry when he finally got up to peel off his clothes. I propped myself onto my elbows and watched as he removed his shoes, socks, shorts, and finally, his underwear.

In his absence, I’d almost forgotten how big he really was. That tall, imposing figure with the muscles that stretched under his golden skin with every move he made. He hadn’t lost the tan he’d gotten here just yet, and that bit of scruff was still on his jaw.

Raking my eyes over him from head to toe, my gaze lingered on his broad chest and the sweep of his strong shoulders. Further down, I followed the definition in his abdomen to his belly button, and finally, I let myself openly ogle his throbbing cock.
