Giggling, Daphne answered, “No, I guess not, but you know what I mean. Snow makes things harder and more complicated.”
“True. Snow will also cover our tracks. They wildly underestimated a girl who grew up in the mountains. I can survive out there, and they don’t think I can. I’ll get you to safety if you can help me out from there.”
“Of course. Eamon will be grateful for your help. He doesn’t harm women or children. He will help you, I promise.” She was positive she could convince Eamon to help her. “Thank you for helping me.”
“It’s the least I can do. I’m sorry I went along with her. I have no excuses.”
“No, I get it, I really do. She is a force to be reckoned with. I know she was the ringleader. I’m just glad you are far enough removed to help me.”
“Thanks for being understanding and not hating me.” They smiled at each other and she gave Rae’s hand a squeeze.
“Ok, fake shower is done. Now you just have to get dressed.” She opened the bag to reveal a nightgown.
“At least I won’t be completely naked. But I know why he is doing this. Fucker.” She sighed as she took in the garment.
“You’re a Little, aren’t you?” Rae asked as she helped her put the nightgown on. It was blue and yellow and totally not her style. It wasn’t even something she would want to wear as a Little, and she was thankful for that.
“I am. Or at least I think I am. I love the idea of it, but I am not a little Little. I feel like I’m an older Little. Like I like to wear cute clothes and watch cartoons and draw a lot, but I don’t wear diapers or drink out of a bottle. My best friend, Kiera, who you will meet when we get out of here, is that Little, and I love her and her Daddy.”
“Do you have a Daddy?”
“I hope I do. I want Eamon to be my Daddy; he just doesn’t know it yet. Did you have a Daddy at home waiting for you?”
Sighing, she sat down on the thin, worn mattress in the corner. “I don’t. I wish I did. I want a Daddy so bad. I don’t know what age Little I am, but I think I’m younger than you.”
“That’s ok. When we get out of here, we will find the best Daddy in the world for you. And Kiera is so great. You will love her. You will love everyone on the estate. It is safe. Eamon will keep us safe.”
“That sounds nice. Really nice. I haven’t felt safe in a really long time,” she said sadly.
“Ok, so how do we get out of here?”
“I have a plan. Please, just trust me on this.” She was looking at her with tears in her eyes, pleading with her to believe her.
“Ok. I will trust you. Please don’t make me regret this.” Daphne was terrified of being stabbed in the back, but didn’t feel like she had any other choice.
The door flew open and a furious Callum stormed in. “Well, you get the night off. Fucking weather is keeping people from coming in. They are closing the damn mountain so no one can get in or out. They will clear the roads tomorrow, so enjoy this while it lasts.”
While he was talking, she saw Rae sneak out. Hopefully, that meant she was going to start executing the plan. Thankfully, Callum left and she heard the door lock behind him. She was stuck here. Stuck in the tiny concrete room with no way out. Just to make sure, she checked the doorknob. Locked. She had nothing to do until she heard from Rae. She hoped the plan would happen soon, but also she hoped that it would happen in the morning because it honestly might be safer. Either way, she was going to be freezing out there. She didn’t know where her shoes were and had no socks or coat or anything. The tiny nightgown, though flannel, would not keep her warm in blizzard temperatures.
Looking around, she tried to gauge what she could use for warmth and for protection. There was a small blanket on the thin mattress. The mattress was so thin, she could probably take it with them. Use it as another blanket. There was a bucket in the corner. She guessed that was for her to use the bathroom in. God forbid she got any dignity in this place. She clenched her fists in anger. She hated him so damn much. She wasn’t a violent person, but for him, she might make an exception.
She dozed as the night went on, but never really fell asleep. She had no concept of time down here. She only had her thoughts and dreams. Picturing Eamon as her Daddy made her heart flutter and her pussy throb. He was everything she ever wanted. Why had she pushed him away? Why had she not tried to be nicer to him? There was no good reason to the rhetorical questions she asked herself, but as she sat there in the dark, contemplating life, she couldn’t help but ask.
She knew he was out there looking for her. He wouldn’t just give up on her. She wondered about Damion and Ferris. She wondered about Emma, too. She worried about Kiera and what she witnessed and hoped her Daddy was ok. There was so much blood and carnage in the road when she was taken. She knew Connor and Ryan were dead, which made her really sad to think about.
Shaking her head, she pinched her cheeks and tried to keep herself awake. She wanted to be ready whenever Rae showed back up. If she showed back up. She didn’t know how much time had passed, but it felt like hours that she had been down here. She was so cold; the blanket was doing nothing to keep her warm. How were they going to survive out there? She hoped Eamon was close. Sending up a silent prayer, she finally succumbed to sleep.
A smiling Rae woke her up.
“Why are you smiling? What’s going on?” she asked in a confused and sleepy voice.
“We don’t have a lot of time, but we have enough. I brought clothes and shoes for you. I’m already dressed. Callum is knocked the fuck out. I put crushed-up Ambien from an old prescription in his whiskey and he is out cold. I don’t know how long it will last though, so we need to hurry.”
As she was getting dressed, Daphne pressed, “What about the other guards? Diana? And what about the other girls?”
“Diana is asleep too. She always takes something and she sleeps like the dead every night. The other guards are all watching porn in the living room upstairs, they think everything is locked up tight. We can’t all sneak out. We will tell someone once we get to town and they will rescue everyone. Like I said, we don’t have a lot of time, but I think we are in the clear. We just have to be really quiet.”
When she was finally dressed, she looked hopeful for the first time since being taken. She looked at Rae and said, “You really thought of everything. Now we may not die of hypothermia.” They both snickered and shushed each other. Despite the seriousness of the situation, she couldn’t help the giggles that escaped. Rae was going to be a good friend.
