“He really is a sweet man,” she said softly. “She’s lucky to have him in her corner.”

“He’s good to those who are good to him,” I agreed, getting off the bed. “Can you keep an ear out for anything regarding Rory?”

“Lexi likes her, so if I hear a way to help her case, I’ll reach out to you guys.”

I took out more bills and handed them to her, this trip costing me almost a grand, but it was worth keeping good connections.

“Look after yourself,” I murmured as she took it and got to her feet, giving me a quick kiss on the cheek like Ocean had.

“You too. Visit more often, okay?”

“I’ll try,” I chuckled, putting my shirt back on and sliding my arms into my jacket. I walked her out to make sure she got to her next lap dance without a problem, then I headed over to the office door and knocked before cracking it open.

Archer looked annoyed as he sat behind the desk, motioning for me to step inside.

“Why are you questioning my girls?” he asked bluntly, eyeing the monitor with all the cameras in the main room.

“I paid them for their time and I’m not getting them involved with anything,” I answered, crossing my arms. “Myles said you wanted to talk.”

“Can you let Hunter know I appreciate him sending Faris back with Violet today? I didn’t have anyone available, and she refused to cancel.”

That surprised me slightly. I wasn’t aware he even knew what thank you meant.

“I can do that. Why didn’t you go with her? You know you’re breaking Lexi’s heart, right?”

His jaw clenched, but he nodded. “Until you care about someone, you won’t get it.”

“Don’t start a war when she finally gives in and ends up with Hunter. He visits her almost weekly.”

“He’s too busy with Donovan to want Lexi.”

“If Rory can date all those guys, why can’t Hunter date both Rory and Lexi too?” I smirked, knowing I hit a nerve from the way his eyes narrowed. “One day, she’s going to wake up and decide she deserves more. You think that little wedding ring will keep her beside you?”

“She won’t leave.”

“All women in situations like that wake up one day and realize they aren’t happy. It might take her years, but you’ll eventually lose her. Then you’ll look really stupid by starting a war over a girl that doesn’t even want you anymore,” I tsked, turning to leave.

“The Soldiers have a girl going into the prison,” he said flatly, making me pause. “No idea who, but I heard about it a few hours ago. If you guys get a call from Rory, make sure to tell her so she can warn Lexi.”

“I’ll do some digging to see if I can find out who.”

“Let me know if you find out.”

“Will do,” I answered before leaving, waving to Milky on the way past the bar so he knew I was leaving.

Hunter was going to flip out if there was someone going into Fairview Prison to cause problems.

SKEETER

“Don’t let him suck you back in,” Diesel warned as I watched Marco leave, frustration rolling through me. As usual, the second he started talking, I was sucked into his bullshit. “I know you don’t like talking about it, but you know you can with me.”

“There’s nothing to say,” I growled, making him roll his eyes.

“Skeet, it’s me. I can tell he still gets to you. Talk to me.”

“Drop it. I fucking mean it. Don’t you have other shit to do?”
