“Fuck you,” I bit out as I aimed it at him, firing just as he dove off me.
Wasting no time, I scrambled back and got to my feet, firing more shots as the men ducked for cover. Razor was bleeding, leaving a trail of blood drops on the floor as he ran towards the door. Something snapped inside of me, a need to watch him suffer like he’d wanted me to. Like Slash had suffered. Like fucking Max was going to when I got my goddamn hands on him.
Slash was dead because of him, another piece of collateral damage that paid for his sins, and I was going to make sure the fucker suffered for it.
Gun shots rang out as I unleashed all my frustration, a sick sense of satisfaction hitting me as one of them dropped to the ground. Another was hit in the shoulder and tried to fire back, but my next bullet got him in the face and sent him down to the floor.
“Don’t stop now, Razor! It was just getting good!” I called as he took off outside, laughter bubbling out of me as I followed. “Hey! Bitchboy! Where are you going?”
Someone grabbed me and I dropped my body weight low, hearing them curse as they lost their grip on me. I rolled, getting to my feet and firing my gun, but nothing happened.
“Shit,” I muttered, the Soldier laughing as he lunged at me. I was faster, pulling my knife from my bra and slashing it out in front of me. Blood sprayed as I gutted him, his hands moving to the wound to try and stop it.
Bit hard to when his insides were literally falling out.
His bloodied hands reached for me as he fell, blood getting all over the place and making me wince. Tyler was going to kill me for this mess.
I looked around as a car outside sped off, presumably with Razor and what was left of his men, leaving behind the three that were bleeding on the floor.
“Who needs a man?” I grinned, my face falling when I realized I had to somehow clean the crime scene I’d created. “Wait, still me. God dammit.”
I was on an adrenaline high, my body buzzing as I tried to focus.
“Clean the evidence. Knife,” I muttered, moving to the sink to wash my hands and knife. “Re-load the gun. What if they come back? Oh, bodies. Shit, the cops will be here soon,” I said to myself, looking up as footsteps approached.
Skeeter slowed when he took in the mess I’d made, his eyes scanning me before he moved closer.
“What happened? Are you hurt?” he asked, Diesel and Brick joining us as they paused to look around too.
“I called for help,” I deadpanned, motioning to the bodies with my wet knife, splashing pink water droplets on the counter. “Don’t worry, I had it handled.”
“Clearly,” Brick said under his breath, nudging one of the Soldiers with his boot. “Nice work, Donovan.”
“I shot Razor, but he was still breathing when he left,” I grumbled, not realizing Skeeter had moved around the counter until he took my knife.
“He didn’t touch you?”
“He tried. Where the fuck were you? You never answer in an emergency. I tried both of you,” I said bitterly, glaring at Diesel, who winced.
“Sorry. The drama at the prison took longer than expected. Our girl that got shivved wasn’t the only target in there. Lexi was attacked after she’d made the call to Hendricks, and so was one of the Devils’ girls. Bit much of a coincidence to not be Rage,” Skeeter sighed, slipping off his jacket. “Shirt off, wash your arms.”
Brick and Diesel got busy with the bodies, allowing me a moment of privacy to strip the torn shirt off and wash as much blood off my arms and hands as possible.
Skeeter slipped his jacket over me and made sure it was zipped at the front to cover me, hesitating before handing me his keys.
“Can you drive? Honest answer. You focused?” he asked, and I frowned.
“I’m fine, why?”
“I can’t believe I’m doing this,” he grumbled before pulling his phone out to call someone. “Hey. Where are you? You want to start making it up to me? I’m sending Aurora to you. You protect her with your fucking life until I come and get her. She can tell you.”
He hung up without saying goodbye, shaking the water off my knife and handing it back to me.
“Who was that?” I asked when he didn’t say anything.
“Rivera. I want your gun fully loaded and your knife on you at all times. I don’t trust him, but he seems to have a soft spot for you,” he said with annoyance. “He’ll keep you safer than my guys right now, and I need D and Brick to help with this.”
“I can just go home.”
