“Yes, Mr. Kauffman. I’ll have it on your desk by the end of the day.”

“We have to talk about that, too.”

“We should schedule a meeting.”

“Boy, you are angling for a spanking.”

“This is not a deterrent. And I do want to talk about it. But do I have to wait till Wednesday to see you? That’s an awfully long time.” And now that he had a Daddy, he was greedy for more.

Maybe he should tone it down, though. Fight his pushy inclinations.

“Unfortunately, I need to meet a friend for lunch and then I’m looking over his portfolio as a favor. He’s just in town for a few days, and this is the only time. But I’d love to see you this evening.”

“Ooh! And take me dancing?”

“Dancing?”

“I just have so much happiness inside me that I want to explode. I need to go dancing.”

“Well, in that case, I suppose we better go dancing. I warn you, though, that I’m pretty bad at it.”

“Oh, I am too! It doesn’t matter, though. I just need all of the music and energy around me.”

“Are you dancing now?”

“Yep.”

“To Hanukkah parodies?”

“Yes!”

“How long have you been awake, baby boy?”

“Oh, hours. Since 6:30, maybe? I did laundry and ate breakfast and even fixed this stupid door thing, and I called Christy, but not until a reasonable hour. And she said it would be OK for me to call you, so I’ve been very good.” He emphasized it, just so Daddy would know.

“Levi, it sounds like you did a lot of good things this morning. But did you consider that maybe you shouldn’t say anything to Christy yet?”

Levi’s heart sank, all of the bubbly feelings from a moment before evaporating as he realized the gravity of his error. He’d been so careful about not sharing Christy’s details with Saul, but he hadn’t ever thought about it going the other way. Not only had he disappointed Daddy, but he’d potentially made things complicated for work. Or at least it would look that way.

“Shit. I’m really, really sorry. I… can I explain?”

There was a long pause. Levi felt like he was going to be sick.

“You may.”

“She, uh, kind of already knew how I felt about you. Like, she realized I had a crush on you right when we started working together. She’s my best friend and she was the one who encouraged me to spend more time with you yesterday. When I called her today, she actually guessed what had happened before I said it. So I guess I wasn’t really thinking of it as telling her anything.

“But that’s not an excuse,” he continued. “I broke your trust. I should have talked to you as my Daddy and my boss and my… you know, my everything. I’m sorry.”

“Thank you for telling me. Do you think she would tell anyone else?”

“She’s known how I felt for almost a year and hasn’t said anything. I can’t imagine why she would now. And I wouldn’t tell anyone else, either, unless we talked about it. I can text her to make sure.” Levi’s stomach was still twisting around itself. This wasn’t the type of trouble he liked to be in.

“I would appreciate that. And baby, it does make sense. I would have liked a heads up, but it sounds like you trust her to keep your confidence, and I don’t want to prevent you from talking with your friends. It’s just complicated because we all work together.”

“I know.” Levi sighed. “I knew I would screw this all up.” He threw himself down on the couch. “It’s OK if you don’t want me any more.”

“Hey baby, listen to me.” Saul’s voice was both stern and affectionate, that intoxicating blend that always went straight to Levi’s cock.
