Juju nodded and smiled. “You too.”
My lady had class. She wasn’t an idiot. She knew from Rita’s outfit what she was to the club.
“Can you and Harriet make sure the guest rooms are ready for our visitors?”
“No problem,” Rita assured me, turning away to find Harriet.
“You trust her,” Juju murmured, no condemnation in her voice.
“Only two Tarts I trust,” I admitted quietly. “Rita and Harriet. They’re good women and grew up in the club. Their mothers were Tarts. Can’t say I don’t wish that they had chosen something else to do instead. But they didn’t. I offered them places in our other businesses, but they said they were happy.”
Juju shrugged. “Then they are. Leave them to live their lives. If they wanted a different one, they’d make sure they got it. Jen did.”
“True enough. Are you ready to get out of here?”
Juju winked at me as she drained her beer and placed the empty bottle on the bar. “Thought you’d never ask.”
Laughing under my breath, I took her hand as we turned to leave.
I paused at the table where Lawless, Lurch, and the group from Saint’s Outlaws were sitting. “We’re going home. Rita and Harriet are sorting the guest rooms. Y’all have a good night.”
North stood and extended his hand. “Appreciate it, Glacier.”
I shook his hand, then Carnage’s, accepting their thanks. “We’re having a cookout tomorrow. You’re welcome to join us.”
Lurch and Lawless looked surprised, knowing how unusual it was for me to extend an offer to another club’s brothers.
“Thanks,” Carnage replied. “I’ll check with Maverick. If he doesn’t need us back, we’ll take you up on your offer.”
“Good thing.” I glanced at Lawless. “Let Rita know.”
Lawless lifted his beer in acknowledgement. He and Lurch would ensure nobody messed with our guests.
As for me, all I wanted to do was spend the rest of the night loving Juju. She’d be leaving soon, and I had a sinking feeling that one weekend wouldn’t be enough for me.
Not by a long shot.
CHAPTER 10
JUJU
Iwas woken by the sheet being stripped from my body and by a trail of kisses from the base of my back up to my shoulders.
My lips tilted up at the corners. I never expected Glacier to be so tender. The man surprised me on so many levels. When we got back last night, we’d showered, and I’d kissed all his hurts like I’d promised before we’d fallen into bed exhausted.
“Morning, lover,” I said, my voice husky with sleep.
His chuckle rumbled through his chest as he drew me against him, wrapping an arm around my waist and kissing my shoulder.
“Morning, darlin’.” He gripped my thigh and moved my leg, opening me up to his caress. His fingers skimmed down the back of my thigh to my clit before dipping the tip of one into my pussy. “Mm, Juju. Did you wake up needy this morning?”
“Only with you,” I admitted softly.
It was true. I’d had relationships, if you could call them that, but they never lasted long, and I never stayed over. To say I had trust issues would be an understatement. But with Glacier, all those issues seemed to fly right out of the window.
“I like it,” he murmured, kissing my shoulder and running his finger back up to my clit. “Like knowing you only respond to me this way.”
A needy whimper left me as he removed his finger.
