"Richard?" said one particularly gruff looking man as he nodded his head at the man who had saved me from Trenton. He froze when he saw me. "Who is this?" Richard smiled as he turned his attention towards me.

"This is Allison," he announced proudly as he smiled down at me. "She's a friend of Sandra's, and she needs a place to stay." The man stopped to look at me, and I felt as though I was shrinking in size.

"That's something you will have to discuss with Chase," he replied, sounding a bit reserved as he spoke. "From what I can tell, he's not in the best mood right now." Beside me, Richard shook his head at the man.

"No problem," he agreed with a gentle smile before turning to look at me. "Come on, Allison. Let's go introduce you to Chase." Before I could say anything, he took me by the hand and started guiding me towards the biggest house on the compound.

The first thing I noticed is that there weren't a lot of women around the compound. Those who were there were all much younger women about my age, and they were clinging to men twice their age as they made their way to the different buildings on the compound. It didn't take long for me to realize that they must be Littles and Daddies, just like so many people around town.

Before Trenton had me move in with him, I had considered being a Little, but I never got the chance to before Trenton decided I was his girlfriend. Originally, I had planned on moving out as soon as I got a job, but Trenton had been too careful to make sure I never achieved financial freedom so I could leave him. Instead, I was stuck with nowhere to go, and Trenton seemed to be the only one happy about this.

Now that I was free of Trenton, I thought about possibly giving being a Little a chance once again, but I didn't plan on going at it right away. I was more concerned with trying to make sure I would never have to return to Trenton again. If that meant convincing the man they called Chase to let me stay, so be it.

It took me a while to realize that I wasn't going to a house to speak to Chase. Instead, it was more of a warehouse than a house, and I felt a bit confused as we made our way to the office located on the far side of the warehouse. As soon as we knocked on the door, someone opened the door.

"Richard?" asked the man who answered the door. He frowned when he saw me. "Who's this?" Richard smiled as he motioned for me to enter the office.

"This is Allison," he said, introducing me to the man. "Allison, this is Chase, my boss." The man frowned as he nodded in acknowledgement at me.

"Pleasure to meet you," he said curtly as he looked from me to Richard. "What's all this about?" Realizing this was the perfect opportunity to explain everything to him, I held up a hand.

"I want to see about staying here on the compound until I can get back on my feet," I announced, and he frowned as he turned to look at me.

"What are you talking about?" he asked, and I took a deep breath.

Over the next few minutes, I explained my situation to Chase regarding everything that happened ever since my parents died in the accident earlier that year to what happened today. He didn't seem surprised as I told him about Trenton, which was a huge relief. When I had finished explaining everything, he turned to look at Richard.

"We'll need to talk about this later," he said before motioning for me to follow him into the office. "Come on in. We'll talk about it." Relief washed over me as I nodded in response and followed him into the office, eager to hear what he had to say.

CHAPTER FOUR

Richard

While I was sure Chase was going to be angry with me for bringing in yet another mouth to feed, I didn't care after he heard about her situation. He invited her into the office, and I knew that he was going to help her out in every way he could. Meanwhile, I sat in the auto repair shop, waiting for him to finish his business with Allison.

While I waited for them to finish talking in his office, I watched TV in the waiting room, enjoying the silence. With so many people living on the compound, silence was a gift that not a lot of us got these days. Of course, I wasn't going to complain.

"Got room for one more?" asked Patrick as he entered the auto repair shop. Without waiting for me to respond, he sat down on the couch next to me and turned his attention towards the TV. "Waiting for Chase to make up his mind about that girl we brought here?" Turning to look at him, I nodded in response.

"You know it," I replied with a gentle smile. "Was it that obvious?" He laughed as he nodded his head in response.

"Yeah, it is," he agreed. "You do know that once she's back on her feet, there's a chance that she'll leave and never look back, right?" Confused by what he meant, I tilted my head at him.

I knew that, like me and so many other people in the group, he was a Daddy who dreamed of finding his perfect Little who would join the compound and help us hide the truth. However, he was less hopeful than we were about finding our Littles, which made him a bit of a downer. After a while, I shook my head at him in response.

"Yeah I already figured as much," I told him. "That doesn't mean we can't hope. For all we know, she could become somebody's Little." Considering everything, Patrick didn't seem convinced.

"I don't like false hope," he told me as he looked back at the TV. "Chase already said he's having a hard enough time finding a place for people to work since we have limited space in the legit businesses. It's only a matter of time before he starts sending people away." My jaw dropped as I turned to look at him.

I had forgotten all about the fact that the compound was getting overpopulated, and I felt my heart start to sink as I remembered this fact. What if Chase decided to send her back to send her back to her abusive boyfriend? Had I unintentionally made things worse for her?

"I already told Chase about the kind of scumbag Trenton is," Patrick reassured me. "I already have a feeling that he's going to help her, but I feel like she's not going to stay too long. We need to keep in mind that not everyone is cut out for this life." Nodding in agreement, I lowered my gaze.

"But there's no reason why she shouldn't stay, right?" I asked, and he shrugged as he smiled at me.

"I guess," he agreed, "but that's all up to her and Chase." I was about to respond when the door to the office opened, and Chase and Allison made their way over to the waiting room.

'Patrick, will you show Allison to her room at the main house?" he asked as he smiled at Patrick before turning to look at me. "You and I still need to have a long talk about your job." Feeling the anxiety rise in my chest, I followed him to the office, knowing I was never going to hear the end of it, while Allison and Patrick made their way over to the main house.
