She laughed. “I’d take off as well, but with Walter as the organizer, we have to stay until the end. We’ll see about the snow.”

“Snow?” I perked up.

“Been falling heavily for a couple of hours. We might make an announcement.”

Horatio cocked his head. “Well, that’ll clear the room.” He snagged my hand. “I’ve called the limo—let’s beat the crush of people.”

I gave Bethany an enthusiastic hug. “This was just a great night.”

Her eyes widened in evident surprise.

Way to play it cool, you idiot.

Horatio squeezed my hand.

I gazed up at him.

He offered a genuine smile. “Yes, Bethany, a wonderful evening.”

“Be safe. Oh, Lucille’s signalling me.”

Horatio and I groaned simultaneously as Bethany hurried off. “We won’t rank space in her column, Dade, I promise you. And you didn’t actually lie about your age.”

Somehow, that didn’t make me feel better. Still, when we stepped into the night, a blast of cold air and snow hit us. We darted to the limo as the same amiable woman held the door for us.

“Sorry,” I managed, before Horatio pushed me across the seat. I shivered.

He pulled me against him.

As his scent enveloped me, I worried less about the sweat and, instead, sank into the comfort his arms offered.

Mine felt heated as well.

He waved enthusiastically at our concierge, then snuggled up against me, sniffing indecently at my neck. “You smell so good.”

I didn’t even wear scent. We had several people in the office with sensitivities, so we just had a policy. “Uh, that’s, like, soap.”

“No. It’s all you.”

The elevator door opened.

Dade grabbed me by the tie and dragged me in.

Caught by momentum, I slammed him against the back wall. “Sorry.”

The elevator door closed.

“Don’t be.” He slid his hand under my jacket and around to cup my ass. Then he pressed his hard cock against my plumping one.

“Cameras.” I might’ve hissed the word.

“We’re not doing anything wrong.” Dade’s vehement protest. With a touch of a whine, as I pulled away.
