I loved amusement parks, fairs, and festivals. It was like one huge ass party to me with a bunch of people I didn’t know, but yet we all had the same goal, to have fun.
“I agree. We’re getting on at least three…no, four, rollercoasters first then we’ll get some food. Ooh, I want a corndog for sure and a bucket of fried veggies.”
“Those aren’t rules; those are your demands. We need to set a time on this side so we can still do the waterpark. I have an early morning but still want to spend as much time with you today, so a solid plan is needed.”
I talked all that shit about not attending his away games and somehow giving in to this date meant I’d still travel down to Austin Peaks with him. So of course my ass would be in the stands rooting for the Badgers.
“See, same thing I said. Three hours over here and maybe two over there should be enough time.” Luke just laughed as he started leading us deeper into the park. Our plans to stick to the schedule quickly changed when we walked past a fun house that had Luke pulling me toward the small line.
“Aht aht, this wasn’t on my strict list of demands, Luke. Remember the schedule,” I whined, my voice even slightly annoying me as he put me in front of him with his hand landing around my waist as he leaned down, invading more of my air.
“It’s not that much time off your tight itinerary. C’mon, Hershey, humor the kid in me. ’Member we used to love the fun house at the fairs growing up.” He kissed my cheek and the feeling of warmth grazed the same spot.
It felt all too familiar. From his big masculine hands on my bare skin, caressing and playing around my belly button. It was a sensitive spot and he knew it. To his scent filling my nose to the point that I could barely smell the fried food in the air that once had my full attention. Oh yeah, this was bad, all fucking bad. I wanted to push him off to stop my heart between my legs from sending a signal to the cavity in my chest to not take this seriously. This was an act, fake ass shit.
“Yes, but things have changed.”
“Bullshit. Do you remember the rules?” He chuckled as we stepped closer to the front of the line.
I turned in his arms, pressing my lips together as my brows furrowed. “Luke, no one forgets the rules to hide and seek. Now, who’s hiding and seeking?”
“I’ll seek, you run and hide.”
Yes, we were once a couple who played hide and seek in fun houses. It added to the thrill of being caught for me.
Still a couple, clearly playing the same games.
I bit on my bottom lip as I narrowed my eyes before I agreed to the games.
“What do I get when I win?”
“Me. And who said you would win?” The attendant calling next stopped me from responding to his lackluster prize.
“Go, baby. I’m giving you a minute to hide.” Luke slapped my ass and a fire hit the pit of my stomach that had me yelping as my feet took off, walking as fast as I could.
Between my giggles and my choppy breathing, I sounded like a crazy person moving through the rooms, tripping and going in circles. I stopped when I came to a tunnel with LED lights and infinity mirrors along the walls, giving an optical illusion. I was hoping to blend in because I needed a moment to calm my racing heart and catch my breath so I could keep going. Luke couldn’t win.
Especially when you don’t even know what he wants as a prize.
I bent over, holding my chest with my eyes closed so the lights didn’t interfere with me getting myself together when I felt a slap on my ass that had me popping up, ready to cuss a muthafucka out until his sultry baritone sounded out.
“You can’t hide all this ass, Hershey.”
Even in the low light I could see his sly smirk which had me placing my hand on my hip as it popped out.
“How did you find me so fast? You musta cheated, ’cause ain’t no way.” I chose to ignore the fact that he had yet again touched my ass.
Yeah, because you like when he does it, Hollis.
I had no comment for that thought because I was blaming it on the lack of good dick in a couple of weeks that my body and now my mind was falling victim to the acts of Luke and his sexy ass mannish ways.
“Naw, I don’t cheat. That’s one quality I never had and never will. You can’t go anywhere without me finding you, Hershey. It’s keeping you around me that’s hard as hell.”
We stood there as the silence lingered between us, heavy too, so I changed the subject before my mood was ruined with him forever wanting to bring up the past.
“Since we’re already off my schedule, we might as well get food next. All this hiding got me in need of a lemonade or something,” I said, walking to exit the room.
