“Mayan temples. You go see the temples then you swim in a cenote.”
“A what?”
“A…” He trailed off making swimming motions with his arms. “A cave of water. You swim.”
Swim in a cave? I doubted the girls would be down for that, but I just wouldn’t tell them.
“And they can get us all today?”
He nodded. “It will take two vans, but he says he will be there for you at eleven.”
“Okay.”
He nodded. “It’s three thousand four hundred US dollars.”
I reached into my back pocket and pulled out a credit card. “Thank you so much.”
After paying and promising to be back at the lobby by ten forty-five, I hurried back to my room to tell everyone. Hopefully, they wouldn’t fight me too much.
I turned down the hall toward my door but stopped when I heard giggling. The Pride.
Should I turn around? Hide?
“Thank you guys for last night,” a woman said. “I needed that.”
Lucy?
“Anytime! It was so much fun.” I narrowed my eyes at Chloe’s voice. What was going on?
I peeked around the corner and saw Lucy walking in the opposite direction. I waited for her to turn toward the beach and out of sight before stepping out. Instead of going to my room I knocked on Chloe and Reese’s door.
Chloe answered, still in pajamas. “Hi Colin.”
I looked over her shoulder to see the rest of the women lying on the couches and bed. “What’s going on?”
Chloe shrugged. “We had a girl’s night.”
“With Lucy?”
“Yeah, she’s the best. Did you know she can lick her elbow? I thought it was impossible, but she can!” Colby shouted from the couch, trying to lick hers.
“I did know that.” But why did they? What happened last night?
“We ran into Lucy on our way back from dinner last night.” Chloe paused, glaring at me. “She was upset so we brought her back here and binged on chocolate and Ethan Hunt all night.”
“You watched Mission Impossible?”
“Only three. We couldn’t stay up after that.”
I shook my head. These women were a bit much at times and trying to keep up with them was impossible. “I came here to let you guys know I booked an excursion for today. We have to meet in the lobby at ten thirty.” Yes, I lied, but I knew these women too well. They were late for everything, except games.
Kendall walked to the door and folded her arms. “Is it something everyone can do?”
“It is. I made sure.”
She nodded. “Okay, we’ll be ready.”
“Wait, aren’t you going to ask what it is?” Emma shouted from the living room.
