At least that was what I kept telling myself.

I had just started to relax when I heard the front door open. My eyes immediately shot toward it, and a few seconds later, Marissa came walking into the living room.

I hadn’t seen her ass in damn near a week, which was crazy considering I was staying in her house. Lately, it seemed like every time I was around, she wasn’t, and I was starting to wonder if her ass was avoiding me.

Then again, maybe I was just paranoid.

“Damn, girl, you alright?” Marissa asked as she walked farther into the room.

I frowned. “Yeah, I’m good.”

“You sure?” She stopped near the couch, studying my face. “Because you look like you done seen a damn ghost.”

“Nawl.” I waved her off. “I just got a lot of shit on my mind.”

“A lot like what?” She sat on the other end of the couch and turned toward me. “You wanna talk about it?”

For a second, I just stared at her.

“Nawl, I’m good.”

“Okay.” She shrugged before reaching for her phone.

I watched her unlock it, but when that little smirk pulled at the corner of her mouth, something in my stomach tightened.

“Have you seen the blogs?” she asked.

I kept my face straight.

“What blogs?”

“The blogs saying Sianni and Kyrie having trouble in paradise, and she pregnant.”

“Yeah, I saw that.” I nodded, barely looking up from my phone.

“They posted those pictures of her and her ex too.” A smirk pulled at her lips as she leaned closer. “You sent them off.”

“Yeah.”

I went back to scrolling, hoping my short-ass answers would give her the hint to shut the fuck up. I already had enough shit running through my mind without her sitting here in my ear, running her damn mouth.

Apparently, she ain’t catch the hint.

“So, if they having trouble in paradise…” Her grin stretched from ear to ear. “That means I need to slide through and see what’s up with Kyrie.”

That made me look up.

“Yeah, I wouldn’t do that.”

Her smile dropped. “And why the hell not? Kyrie don’t like liars.”

I stared at her for a second before shaking my head. “See, that’s where you’re wrong. He actually feels for Sianni. According to her, they’re good.”

She sucked her teeth and rolled her eyes. “Man, girl, you really believe that bitch?”

The way she looked me up and down had my brows lifting.

“Yeah, I do.”
