“Sianni.”
“I’m serious.”
“So am I.” I brushed my thumb along her side. “I ain’t worked this hard to throw my shit away. But don’t confuse me thinking before I move with me not moving at all.”
Her lips twitched.
“That’s probably the best promise I’m getting out of you, huh?”
“Pretty much.”
“Hardheaded ass.”
“And you married me.”
“Unfortunately.”
“The fuck?”
She laughed when I rolled her onto her back. Just hearing that sound after all the bullshit we’d been dealing with did something to me.
“Say that shit again.”
“Unfortunately,” she repeated, laughing harder when I lowered my face toward hers.
“Aight.”
I kissed along her jaw before making my way toward her neck.
“Kyrie.”
“What’s wrong?” I asked against her skin.
“You know what’s wrong.”
“I don’t know shit.”
Her hand pressed against my chest, but the smile on her face told me she wasn’t nearly as unbothered as she was pretending to be.
I kissed her once more before lifting my head.
“You still wanna stay here?”
Her smile faded slightly.
“At the resort?”
“Yeah.”
She nodded. “I do.”
Everything in me wanted to tell her no. Put her ass on the jet with me, take her home, and keep her somewhere I knew nobody could get close enough to breathe wrong around her. But that wasn’t what she wanted.
“Aight.”
Her eyebrows shot up.
“That’s it?”
