She nodded without taking her eyes off me.
“Aight.” I pushed up off the couch. “Come on.”
“Where we going?” She frowned, getting up.
“Outside.”
There was no way in hell I was about to have this conversation in the house. I didn’t know if her husband knew she’d been fucking around with Kyrie, and I damn sure wasn’t trying to be the reason that man came in there and beat her ass or handed her divorce papers.
Whatever happened between them wasn't any of my business.
Marissa followed me as we stepped out onto the patio. I dropped into one of the lawn chairs by the pool while she stood there with her arms folded.
“Aight,” she said impatiently. “What’s so damn important?”
I pulled my phone out of my pocket.
“There is a rumor floating around. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but…” I unlocked my phone. “… the blogs got a hold of it.”
I opened The Rumor Receipt, then handed her my phone.
“As a matter of fact,” I shrugged. “see for yourself.”
She snatched the phone from my hand. The second her eyes fell on the headline, every bit of color drained from her face.
Her jaw tightened, and her nostrils flared.
“What the fuck is this shit?”
Her voice rang through the backyard so loudly it echoed off the damn house. I glanced back toward the patio doors.
“Damn. Lower yo’ voice.”
She ignored me, her eyes glued to my phone as she scrolled through the pictures.
“That’s Sianni…” I said, pointing at the screen. “Looking at pregnancy tests.”
Marissa’s grip around my phone tightened.
“Ain’t no fucking way.”
She kept scrolling before looking back at me.
“You think she really pregnant?”
I shrugged.
“I don’t know. That’s why they calling it rumor.”
His lips pressed into a thin line.
“Kyrie told me he ain’t want no kids.”
I couldn’t help the smirk that tugged at my lips. If he really told her that, this shit was about to get real interesting. Marissa shoved my phone back into my hand.
“So, now what?”
I slipped my phone into my pocket and leaned back in the chair.
