I pulled away from the kiss and looked up at him.

“You happy now?”

“Hell yeah.” He smirked. “You stuck with me for real now.”

I frowned.

“Nigga, I was already stuck with you.”

“Nawl. Now you stuck-stuck.”

I laughed. “You so damn stupid.”

“And you love my ass.”

“Unfortunately.”

“Stop fucking lying.”

I smiled before wrapping my arms around his neck again.

“I love you, Big Daddy.”

His grin softened.

“Love you, too, beautiful.”

He kissed my forehead before pulling me against his chest.

And standing there in his arms, I didn’t need to question shit anymore.

This was my husband.

This was our baby.

This was my family.

And after all the bullshit it took for us to get here, this was exactly where I wanted to be.

ONE YEAR LATER…

If somebody had told me a year ago that Kyrie Maddox would be the kind of daddy who couldn’t stand to hear his baby cry for more than two seconds, I probably would’ve laughed in their face.

But here his big ass was.

“Ma, what’s wrong?”

I looked up from my phone and over toward the other end of the couch, where he was holding our baby against his chest.

“Nothing is wrong.”

“Then why she making that face?”

I stared at him.

“What face?”

“That one.”
