“It’s the same as always. Flirt. Smile. Take orders. Deliver them. Just a different atmosphere. See the big guys under the spotlights with the black suits on? They are dungeon monitors. If you see anything that makes you think someone is being hurt against their will, speak to them, and they will check.”

Not just being hurt, but being hurt against their will. I wasn’t sure how I could tell the difference. Around me, there were omegas strapped to leather-covered benches being spanked, one fastened to a cross, his stiff cock jutting out while an alpha in tight leather pants flicked it with a leather strap. I scanned the area and saw dungeon monitors. Hefty men who had their arms crossed in front of their chests. They looked like statues in a museum, but my bear felt they were fellow predators.

That made me feel better.

“Do people, like, have sex in public here?”

Devin shrugged one shoulder as he handed me a tray and began to fill it up with drink orders. “A lot of things happen here. I don’t know if you’ve been in here before…as not a worker?”

I’d thought about it. Checking out the club in my off hours. But I had zero knowledge about these things. What was I supposed to do, walk up to an alpha and say, hey, I’m Trace, you wanna spank me?

Also, I would admit to no one how that thought sparked something inside me.

“No. On my days off, I mostly sleep.”

“Same. I swear, this place wears me out. Okay. Table two with those drinks and check on your other customers. You’ll be fine. I’ve seen you work at the villas. It’s all the same thing.”

“Got it. Thanks.”

The hours passed by in a blur of serving and clinking glasses. I’d learned that unlike the resort guests, tips from those who came to the club or casino for the evening would be deposited in my account when they closed out their tabs. Several alphas flirted and winked at me. Nothing new. I was asked to play at one of the stations whose purpose I didn’t understand. If I had a laptop or something, I might do some research so I wasn’t so green, but all my money went straight into my savings account. I had some clothes other than my uniforms but not many. There was no point. I ate here. I had free room and board, part of employment.

That growing bank account was my only safety net. Especially if I needed to get out of here at a moment’s notice.

“What’s your name, handsome?” An alpha ran his hand down the back of my thigh as I passed on my way to another table. He wasn’t even sitting in my section.

I paused. “Your waiter will be with you soon.”

“What if I don’t want him? What if I want you?”

The other alphas at the table grumbled to him that he should calm down. Leave me alone. He didn’t listen. “I’m working, sir.”

“Sir. Mmm, that sounds lovely on those pouty lips. What time to do you get off?”

“Long after the club is closed. Have a good night.” The lie flowed easily off my tongue, and I hated lying, but it helped save feelings and not aggravate the guests. Not that this guy seemed the sensitive type.

While I delivered drinks, I stole glances at some of the stations.

I wished I could take a tour and find out what I liked. It had been so long since I’d even been touched by an alpha. And even when I was, it was all about his pleasure. His needs.

Maybe one day I would find a giver. An alpha who didn’t always take and take and take.

Chapter Seven

Azlan

I spent my second day at the resort relaxing. I swam in my pool, dragged a lounger out to lie in the sun, and had food delivered. I never saw Trace, unfortunately, but the food was good and the service excellent. I tried to get everyone’s names for the tipping when I left because each of them deserved that.

As the sun set, I considered whether to just stay here and chill or go check out the club. Honestly, this solo relaxing wasn’t as much fun as I’d anticipated. Sure, I needed rest, but I also needed release. And I wasn’t going to get that here alone. If the club here was anything like the one I belonged to, there would likely be omegas who were interested in scening for an hour or an evening.

Not Trace, since he didn’t work there and hadn’t even really visited, but someone.

And that would be fine. I was doing a great job convincing myself of that—not. As much as I wanted the freedom to be me and do the things I liked, I had to respect that this adorable omega had the same rights. He had worked here for a while and never chosen to try out the facilities. Could we have something between us if he wasn’t drawn to such an important part of my life?

I didn’t know.

But I did recognize that dwelling in no way contributed to relaxation and destressing, so I took my sun soaked body inside for a shower and dressed in my black leather pants, vest, and boots. Nothing says ready to play more than a black leather vest.

Or so I tried to tell myself. I was doing a lot of that lately.
