“And make it a hundred bucks,” Indi said.

As they approached the bar, Sutton watched Flynn doing a shot with her brothers and warmed all over. She hadn’t realized how badly she’d wanted her family to like him or how big an impact it would have on her if they did.

Flynn looked over, and their eyes connected with that pulsing heat she swore had become a part of them. A hopeful future played out in her mind. She imagined meeting Flynn’s family, sitting around a bonfire with them making up stories, attending Levi and Tara’s wedding together, and at some point, Raz and Leni’s wedding, too. She pictured taking the ferry home together in the fall to meet Daphne’s and Tara’s new babies.

“There’s my glamour girl.” Flynn reached for her hand, drawing her from her fantasy into a kiss. “I missed you,” he whispered in her ear.

Oh, her heart…

“I missed you, too. Are you having an okay time?” she asked quietly.

“I’m having a great time, and I’m glad you’re with me now. That table of women over there has been checking me out for the past half hour.”

He motioned with his chin to a table of her grandmother’s friends sitting to their left, drinking wine with mischievous expressions. The ladies waved to her. Sutton waved back and said, “Take it as a compliment. They’re the original Bra Brigade crew, and they’re definitely checking you out.”

He glanced at them. The ladies lifted their wineglasses as if toasting. “They’re not shy, are they?” He flashed a friendly smile and waved.

“Sutton, are you going to let him flirt with the Bra Brigaders?” Raz asked.

“You’re just mad that they’ve got fresh meat to check out,” Levi teased.

“Speaking of fresh meat,” Sutton said, looking at her brothers. “Thank you for not pranking Flynn.”

Archer lifted his chin. “It turns out Miles Long is a pretty cool guy.”

“What the hell, Archer?” Raz held up his palms. “I got kidnapped and held over a cliff, and this guy gets a cool stripper name?”

“That wasn’t my doing,” Archer said.

“That was all Steve,” Flynn said. “I was just standing there offering to help with breakfast and he saw you coming and said to go with it.”

“Nice one, Dad,” Jock said, sharing a nod with Levi.

“Our fucking father,” Archer grumbled. “I really thought our grandmother had lost her mind.”

Flynn laughed. “I spent some time talking with Lenore last night. She’s as lucid as we are, but I thought you were going to let me have it.”

“I was this close.” Archer held up his finger and thumb, an inch apart.

“I’m glad you didn’t try to rearrange Flynn’s face.” Sutton smiled at Flynn. “I happen to be very fond of it.”

“Thanks, babe.” Flynn kissed her.

“Okay, enough mushiness,” Leni said. “Archer, how does that ball and chain feel?”

Indi looked amused.

“Pretty fucking great,” Archer said.

“You might want to ask him again tomorrow,” Indi said. “He freaked out when I brought my toothbrush over before we moved in together. Lord only knows what will happen when he wakes up and sees a ring.”

They laughed.

“To Archer, that ring on your finger is a symbol of ownership,” Jock pointed out.

“I wasn’t talking about my ring,” Indi said, inciting more chuckles. “Hey, Archer, the girls and I were just waging a bet about Keira and Ryan getting together. Want to get in on it?”

Archer scoffed. “Definitely. They’ll never get together. Keira’s anti-men.”
